HELP: noise 2001 Lincoln LS sounds like bad tire 10 Jul 2004 04:12 GMT9
My Lincoln has been making this noise since I bought it last year with 35000
miles.  The dealer told me it was the tires (bought 2 new tires).  The
dealer has since had the car several times but has not been able to find the
problem.  I can hear the noise inside the car with the AC ...
Paint Cracking  on Black Explorer08 Jul 2004 15:38 GMT10
Anyone have an Explorer that is black that is experiencing the paint
cracking on the hood and roof.  If so, has Ford done anything about it?
Mothers CA Gold Clay Bar08 Jul 2004 00:52 GMT7
I wanted to share my experience with this product. I purchased the
Mothers Clay Bar System at Checker today. I tested it on my 1997
Explorer XLT. The results are amazing, the paint is sooo smooth and
reflective it's crazy. It removed black overspray (from when I painted
Michelin LTX MS tire pressure?07 Jul 2004 23:34 GMT20
Just put 4 new Michelin LTX MS tires on my 2000 Explorer XLS (2WD). What should
the tire pressure be? The tires say "consult owner's manual / max. pressure 35
PSI". The owner's manual says to follow recomendations on side of tires, so I'm
unsure what is best. The tire dealer put 37 ...

Future value of a truck bought today07 Jul 2004 00:43 GMT11
I am in the market and I am trying to compare different SUVs.  I know that,
as an example, a Ford generally does not hold its value as well as an Acura,
but it probably costs less initially.  I want to see an estimate of what a
vehicle would be worth, say 3 years after purchase, so ...
Windstar question?07 Jul 2004 00:41 GMT1
As an Explorer owner, I have benefitted greatly from the advice of this group
over the last couple years.  I am a new minivan owner and realized there is no
such minivan newsgroup to consult.  Please don't berate me too severely for
violating newsgroup "cross model" edicate, if such ...
Trailer hitch receiver size.04 Jul 2004 16:52 GMT2
I have a 2002 XLT. I can't seem to find out what size my trailer hitch
receiver is.
This is the first time I've ever had to use one of these kind. Every
other time I just put the ball on the bumper.
Air Ride suspension question04 Jul 2004 09:53 GMT4
Saw this mentioned in another thread but thought it best to start afresh...
I have a UK spec '98 4.0 SOHC 4X4 which is fitted with a self levelling
suspension system. The drivers handbook describes it as an 'Air Ride'
system.
buying a new explorer (or other new vehicle)04 Jul 2004 06:43 GMT4
Sometime in the future, I am going to embark into the jungle of auto
dealerships to purchase a new Explorer. I've read some of the better books
on how to survive new-car negotiations (such as Remar Sutton's), but one
question they don't answer is: how do you make sure the ...
Bower Motor Question04 Jul 2004 03:32 GMT5
I just changed my blower motor (burning smell and smoke coming from the
vents) and that went well. When I hooked up the new motor everything went
well but! Now I only have high speed. Did I do something wrong or has
something else gone bad.
Timing chain life on 4.0 V603 Jul 2004 23:38 GMT4
What is the life of the timing chain on a 1997 Ford Explorer 4.0 V6?
This is the standard engine not the SOHC that I am asking about.  My
Explorer has 190K miles on it.

93 Explorer.Won't stay running when put in gear...03 Jul 2004 06:37 GMT1
I have a 93 explorer 4x4 with 4.0L engine. The vehicle will start up and
idle just fine, but as soon as I move the gear shift lever the engine
stops. When it stops, the engine shakes very roughly in the engine bay
before it quits. The engine will restart immediately and idle fine ...
Moaning engine?03 Jul 2004 03:18 GMT4
My '97 XLT with 4.0 pushrod engine and manual trans.  has lately developed
an odd symptom. In hot weather at idle the engine makes a loud continuous
"tone"-like sound. It seems to change slightly at different engine speeds,
but not proportionally and not much until RPM's are up at ...
