| HELP / ADVICE 92 EXPLORER | 31 Oct 2004 03:43 GMT | 5 |
Hi, I am looking at buying a 92 Explorer. The only major problem is the owner told me that his mechanic told him that there was an engine seal leak. The owner says that simply keeping up with the 3000 mile oil changes is enough. The only thing I notice is the fact that I can smell ...

I have a '96 EB with the JBL AM/FM/cassette stereo. The on/off/volume control (it's a switch and a potentiometer in one) won't let me turn the radio off anymore. I took it apart and found the problem, which is a worn plastic guide. However, the Ford dealer told me that the ...

| Spark plug replacement on 91 | 28 Oct 2004 21:37 GMT | 2 |
Replaced the spark plugs last night. That right rear plug is a bitch to get at. The original plugs still fired, but after 14 years it didn't seem like a bad idea to switch. The gap had grown to about .075, somewhat over spec. I'm hoping to gain a little better gas mileage with ...

| 2002 Trailer hitch | 28 Oct 2004 12:11 GMT | 7 |
My 2002 XLT came with a Class II, 1-1/4" receiver hitch. I'd like to replace it with a Class III, 2" hitch. Is it a simple matter of unbolting the original and bolting on the new one or is there some welding to contend with?

I'm still driving my 91 XL, bought new (took delivery Christmas Eve 1990). She now has all of 173000km (~110K mi)! This is an XL with AC, cruise control, rear window defroster (rear wiper long since fallen off), and not much else (I put on 235 Michelins in 1996).

I need to know the bulb number for a 97 Explorer bottom clear fog lights. It seems that the 886 referenced does not fit, on the ones removed the lettering is worn off. There are several different types that "look" right but the two types that I bought do not fit.

| Where's the radiator cap? | 26 Oct 2004 18:29 GMT | 7 |
I just drained the engine coolant, back-flushed the system, and added the new coolant on my "new to me" used 2001 Windstar (3.8L engine). I could not locate the radiator cap. I noticed the reservoir pressure warning labels so I assumed the radiator was born without a cap. ...
