Torque Spec for brake anchor plate-to-steering knuckle bolts ?30 Nov 2004 01:23 GMT3
I've got a 98 4WD 4 door  explorer and I'm pulling the front rotors to be
resurfaced. I had to remove the 2 bolts for the brake anchor plate to get
the rotor off (these are not the same bolts that you have to remove to just
replace the pads). I need to know what to torque the ...
Heat Location Switching problem29 Nov 2004 15:31 GMT1
I have a 95 XLT that does not have the climate control.  I have read
about the problems with that unit and the inablility to control the
tempature of the heat, but I'm having a different problem.
So far this seems to happen after everything has warmed up.  I can
Jim Warman, I am still confused29 Nov 2004 08:11 GMT15
Jim, or anybody that knows, I tried again today to make sense of the codes
coming out of the OBD-1 , but since I have no real idea what it means, all I
can do is ask what the series of numbers means.

Explorer 2000 EB Fuel Cap Light29 Nov 2004 00:22 GMT5
On my Ford Explorer 2000 EB's dash board, the fuel cap warning light comes on
when I start the engine then goes out (just as other warning lights on the dash)
BUT, it does not turn on if the fuel cap is NOT capped back on the fuel inlet.
During the last week twice I forgot to cap ...

Air Conditioning question28 Nov 2004 15:01 GMT4
I have a 2001 Explorer Sport.  This AM, I was at a stop light and turned
the air on to defrost the windows.  When I turned it on, the idle speed
dropped and the unit started to click on/off couple of seconds. Is this
serious?
99 Explorer Sport Axel Ratio 28 Nov 2004 02:33 GMT1
I'm trying to figger out  the differential ratio
on my "new" 99 Sport.
I've been thru the owners manual a couple times
and can't find any cross from the door label.. Axel 42 to a ratio.
Explorer Paint28 Nov 2004 01:38 GMT1
I have an '03 Explorer Sport, black, with factory grey running boards.
My Ford dealer does not sell replacement paint for the running boards,
because, they say, that is is a 'stock' part that comes grey. Has anyone
found a gray that matches for touch up? Thanks.
Explorer sport track27 Nov 2004 16:22 GMT7
I am planning to get a sport track by march of 2005, probably a one to two
year old. Any warnings or anything to lookout for? 2X2 or 4X4?. Mostly city
driving with occasional Kayaking trips.
ATTN Jim Warman27 Nov 2004 05:01 GMT3
I had asked you about the rapid clutch cycling of my 01 Sport.  Took to
the shop today and they indicated iy was a half pound down.  So they
flushed and filled system.  Drove off the lot and put the AC on and
still rapid clutches.  Brought back to shop and we discovered all reads ...

Hi, my Explorer bangs into gear when putting the vehical into reverse.
It also seems to "lurch" forward when increasing speed.  We just
drive it in 4x4 Auto. I can't imagine this is normal.  Any idea's what
it might be.  The Explorer only has 20k miles.
94 Explorer wipers making a grinding noise...is this going to be expensive???26 Nov 2004 16:28 GMT1
Proper Tire Rotation Method26 Nov 2004 06:09 GMT5
I have a '96 EB 4x4.  According to the owner's guide, the proper way to
rotate four tires is to move the rear tires to the front, with the tires
remaining on the same side of the vehicle.  The front tires are to switch
sides when moving to the rear of the truck.
Built Ford Complicated?26 Nov 2004 00:48 GMT2
Plagued with Explorer rusty side step syndrome, I figured I would just
remove them and have them blasted and refinished, right?  Wrong!  In
addition to the actual step bar, there are three separate mounts (per side)
each secured by two rusty bolts.  On each mount, there is a plastic ...
