I am having an issue with the"door ajar" light in the dash staying on. Where
are the open door sensors?  I have turned the interior light off when the
door is open to save the battery. Thanks in advance.

97 V8 Timimg Chain Change ?03 Dec 2004 12:17 GMT1
My 97 EB with 5.0L V8 AWD has about 112k miles and running strong. Is it
about time to be replacing the Timing Chain. I did that with my 88 F250 5.8L
at about the same miles, and it was a good idea. It is still running strong
now with 150k miles. Suggestions? What else to ...

I  took it in to a local mechanic and he said I needed a $2000 transmission

I wanted to get your advice before buying a 183k miles 1997 Ford
Explorer(Eddie Bauer). Can you suggest if this is a good idea? The
truck is in a fair condition. What is a good guess on how long i can
make it run without a major repair.

Battery question.01 Dec 2004 23:20 GMT22
The battery on my Explorer died a couple of weeks ago. It was 6 years old
but showed no signs of illness before it wouldn't crank the engine anymore.
So I got a new battery from Pepboys which is supposed to be 650 cold
cranking amps. Just to be sure I also took the truck over to ...
How Many Miles On Yours?01 Dec 2004 15:48 GMT34
I was just looking at an Explorer web site and they seemed to think that
170K was a very high mileage Explorer.  I'm just curious about how many
miles other folks here have on theirs.  M '91 XLT has about 195K on it and
it still runs great, passes the smog test, and still looks good ...

Hard shifting from 1-2, nice from 2-3, and 3-2. I can live with the
