| A hot problem | 31 Jan 2005 07:36 GMT | 4 |
Ok, it's not too much of a problem now that it's cold out, but this won't be fun in the summer. It seems the hot/cold control is stuck on hot. I can hear a clicking noise coming from the ductwork. I am assuming the blend door is stuck. Is is possible for something to get ...

| Ford Explorer Maint Page | 31 Jan 2005 06:18 GMT | 4 |
What ever happend to Dr. Bob's Ford Explorer Maintenance Page? I can't seem to find it. Any tip for troubleshooting turn signals. My left works fine but when I turn on the right it sounds like a machine gun, buzzing instead of clicking. Could it be the switch?

| 1995 Headlights | 31 Jan 2005 01:26 GMT | 3 |
I recently replaced the headlights on my 1995 EB, and am not satisfied with results. I plan on getting the Sylvania Silverstars, but the big problem seems to be the "yellowed" lens assembly. I see the same problem on most older Explorers. Any information on replacement/

| Trouble Code P0420 | 31 Jan 2005 01:23 GMT | 5 |
My scanner says "System efficiency below threshold" my Chiltons book says "catalyst efficiency monitor and/or exhaust system fault" for that code. Could it be the Oxygen Sensor? I have 70K on this one :(

I have had an occasional failure with the ABS on my 2003 Explorer. When I turn off the ignition and then on again, the problem disappears. I brought the vehicle in for a diag today and they reported that the ABS sensors were all okay, but they were getting a code L1440 which they ...

| P.A.T.S. anti theft on 98 Explorer? | 29 Jan 2005 05:46 GMT | 8 |
I've been told that some 98's were equipped with a Passive AntiTheft System which requires any new keys to be programmed, sorta like programming a new remote button. How can you tell if your vehicle has the PATS system? I got only one key with my used Explorer. The black

| Front door speakers | 28 Jan 2005 22:00 GMT | 6 |
2001 Sport Trac I just noticed today that both front door speakers sound really scratchy. Any bass at all is just buzz. Selecting just the rear speakers with the fader control, it sounds fine. Is it likely that both front speakers shot

The stereo in my wife's '92 EB finally expired after a long, slow, agonizing death. Can I just buy a standard stereo and put it in there somehow? Every car stereo I've installed in the past attached to the dash with nuts on the volume/tuning shafts. The Ford stereo (it says Sony ...

| '96 Explorer: Unable to release engine hood | 28 Jan 2005 18:20 GMT | 2 |
I went to get an oil change the other day only to discover that the engine hood would not open. When you pull the latch release inside the vehicle, nothing happens...it's as if the cable has stretched or something. A guy at the oil change place was able to finally get the

| Bad Tires? | 28 Jan 2005 17:27 GMT | 8 |
I've got a 2000 XLT and got 5 free Goodyear Wrangler RT/S tires at 35K miles due to the whole Firestone calamity. Over the last 20K miles or so, the driver's side front tire has developed a WHOP WHOP WHOP sound that is loudest at 35MPH and is noticable until about 65MPH.
