radiator coolant 1997 xlt27 Mar 2005 04:10 GMT5
I checked the radiator coolant today and there was none in there so I
figured that was not good.  I went to Pep Boys and got some engine
coolant (liquid is green in color) and added it to the resevoir.  Is
there a ratio of water to coolant that I need?
Explorer V8 EGR valve replacement27 Mar 2005 00:14 GMT14
Does anyone know where I can find the instructions for replacing the EGR
valve in a 96 Explorer V8?  None of the typical manuals (Chiltons,
Haynes) cover the V8 in enough detail for this to be included.
Thanks.

nothing changed. The highbeam works, but not low beam.
Any help or things to try would be appreciated.

Someone mentioned to me today that there is a recall for the
transmission on my 03 mountaineer. I have not been notified by Ford
but was wondering if I missed it. Something to do with the filter.
Thanks Tom

Torque Converter clutch won't stay locked up24 Mar 2005 23:24 GMT21
94 XLT with the 4ALD automatic with 185K, but completely rebuilt tranny
about 10K ago. Lately strange things with torque converter lockup. It
usually works normally, with lockup right at 45 mph, and in and out
like it should depending on load. If I stay under 55 or so, it is fine
94 XLT cruise control  vs trailer brake actuator24 Mar 2005 21:57 GMT2
I hooked up a new trailer brake actuator that required tapping into the
cold side of the brake light wiring at the brake pedal switch. It also
required a good ground, which I didn't have the first time I tested the
actuator. The ground I chose was at the dash, and was not sufficient ...
Rear End Sag on 02 Explorer24 Mar 2005 15:55 GMT5
When I load the class 3 hitch to about 450 pounds the rear end sags.  So
what are my options to correct this?   The vehicle is an 02 Explorer XLT
with independent rear suspension and coil springs.  I estimate I need two
inches or so of lift to level the vehicle?
1991 Ford Explorer24 Mar 2005 10:13 GMT2
I was driving down the road and all of a sudden my 1991 Ford Explorer
just died on me and wouldnt start back.  At first they thought it was
the fuel pump but it was working fine.  Then they thought it might
have something to do with the plugs, which i changed them.  They were
Oil Presure Sender - conversion to linear from switch23 Mar 2005 04:20 GMT1
I'm having problems with an intermittent oil pressure indication
on a 99 Explorer Sport with a 4.0L SOHC, at cold start up.
Rather than just replace the pressure switch sensor it seems attractive
to make the gauge in the dash a real linear indicator as suggested in
Radio Noise from Heater Controls23 Mar 2005 03:20 GMT2
Recently I've noticed radio interfearance originating from the
standard heater temperature control.  It is most noticeable
when listening to relatively weak AM stations.   It is most
apparent when the Explorer is cold and the control fully
