Instument lights.... should I bother?17 Mar 2005 16:39 GMT4
My '97 XLT has one or two blown instrument lights, on the right so I can't
see oil or battery gauges at night. The others are ok.
Anyone know how difficult it is to replace them?
Cheers.

98 Explorer - Cold Starting/ Idle Problem16 Mar 2005 04:23 GMT6
My 98 Explorer will not remain in idle after a cold weather start.  It turns
over fine and initially goes up to a fast idle, but slowly drops off to a
stall.  I am required to feather the pedal at a 3000+ RPM range to warm the
engine before it will idle on its own.  Problem ...
Steering Wheel Cruise Control Light15 Mar 2005 23:18 GMT1
I have a bad connection in the light of the cruise control speed
switch (right side) on the steering wheel. The light goes out
intermittently. Is the bulb soldered in place or can it jiggle loose?
Anyone have any advice on where the problem most commonly appears?

I am going to be selling my Explorer within the next 6 months, and oddly as

Can this vehicle be exported there? Anyone know what would be involved?

TO JIM AND ALL READERS,

Difference in engines?12 Mar 2005 07:33 GMT2
Can anyone tell me the difference in the 4.0L engines from the early
explorers to late model. I'm still fuzzy on this. It says 4.0L SOHC on a
2004, and it says 4.0L SOHC on my '92 EB. I noticed mine has the distributor
( if you can call it that ) to the rear, and the newer ...

I have a 2000 Ford Explorer Sport with 100KM on it and just recently
the "Check Engine Light" came on. My mechanic pulled the codes and
said it was the O2 sensors. It's been a few days since that and my

Heater Inlet hose11 Mar 2005 20:45 GMT3
I'm going to replace my thermostat tonight.  In addition, I'm going to

98 explorer 4.0 SOHC  key programming11 Mar 2005 03:53 GMT1
I was hoping someone could set me straight on this. I bought my vehicle used
and only received 1 key with it. I'm told you have to have 2 "masters"
before you can program others. I've also heard that some 98s only need 1
master. Not sure how reliable that info is. Does anyone ...
