2000 Explorer Keypad08 Mar 2005 12:13 GMT4
I recently bought a 2000 explorer XLT with keyless remote and keypad entry.
Only one key with chip was included.  I bought 2 remotes from ChipKeys ($23
vs. $78 at Ford)and programmed them easily with their instructions..  I also
bought one chip key, but they  referred to the owners ...
Squeaking Leaf Springs08 Mar 2005 04:20 GMT1
The leaf springs "squeaking" on my 95 EB is sounding worse by the day.
Looking through the NG I see some recommendations for spraying the leaf
springs with lubricant. Would a silicon lubricant work for this
purpose? Also see a recommendation to replace the leaf springs "pads".

Ford Explorer servicing cd/dvd ??07 Mar 2005 00:08 GMT11
I am an Explorer newbie, and need to start working on my '98 XLT. Can't
afford $105/hr just to diagnose, more to work on the car, as my local
dealers are telling me. I have low to average mechanical skills, but
don't take on anything major at all.

I have a '95 Explorer, 6 cylinder with 100,700 miles on it.  I have changed
the transmission fluid regularly and have had the system flushed out each

transmission need to be adjusted periodically or something like ...

Hi Guys, I own a '98 XLT, that I have had since 6/2000. I had a 6

Leather seats with cloth sides?05 Mar 2005 23:07 GMT2
This is a quite random question...
Is there a reason behind Ford not fully wrapping their seats in
leather/vinyl? I have always owned Ford/Lincoln/Merc products and most
have cloth on one side of the seat. Just curious, likely a cost cutting

Just had my brakes redone (front/rear pads,  rear calipers) about a week
