| Re: Radio display out | 21 Apr 2005 04:20 GMT | 1 |
No I didn't do the soldering. My eyes aren't what they used to be, much less the steadiness in my hands. I did the Save My Sanity swap at www.shareamemory.com/radio and got the board which included very detailed pictures of the procedure and concise instructions on how to fix the

| alternator problem? | 20 Apr 2005 22:35 GMT | 4 |
We have a 94 ford explorer. The ammeter says it's charging when we drive on the highway. But when we drive in stop and go traffic the needle goes down. Eventually the battery goes dead if we keep driving in the city.

| 2002 factory hitch replacement | 20 Apr 2005 21:14 GMT | 5 |
Hate to bring this up again, but before I go crazy with what options I actually have, can someone tell me if the factory 1 1/4" hitch can be removed and replaced with a 2" hitch? It looks to be integrated into the frame. I was trying to stay away from that Valley convert-a-hitch.

I have a 1995 explorer xlt. It has about 102,000 miles on it, and seems to be running fine. I have always changed the oil every 3000 miles, and I was wondering if there is a need to change time timing belt or chain [I don't know which it has] at a certain point in time. People ...

| 93 Explorer radiator | 19 Apr 2005 14:23 GMT | 4 |
The radiator is leaking at the top seam. Would it be better to have it welded or replace it? I was told there are two different radiators for this car. It is an automatic and has AC. It has 100,000 miles on it.

| Fuel Gauge Problem | 19 Apr 2005 05:49 GMT | 6 |
The fuel gauge is reading beyond full when in fact it was about 1/4 full. I have since filled up and driven several miles. Is it possible that a fuse could be the problem or am I looking at having the fuel gauge replaced?

Why does my 92 explorer hesitate or skip at 55? Is it the timing chain, or what else should I be looking at? thanks

| fixing rust spots | 18 Apr 2005 22:47 GMT | 2 |
This is on a 92 XLT. With 170k+ on the odometer I am not motivated to putting a lot of money into fixing up the body but... There is significant surface rusting showing up on the roof. This is at some

What is the stuff sprayed on Honda's and other vehicles at the factory that prevents acid rain spotting on the dealer lots, before the vehicle is sold? It's sort of like plastic as it peels off (like "Colorforms") but it appears to be sprayed on at the factory. It is commercially ...

I am getting a P0446 code on my 1996 Explorer V8. I have reset the code now about three times and each time it has returned. I also made sure my gas cap was tight and clean, and I am still getting the code. There is obviously a problem somewhere. Where is the charcoal ...
