Timing Belt27 Jun 2005 15:00 GMT4
I have a 95 XLT Explorer with 105,000 miles on it.  It runs fine, and I've
always changed the oil every 3000 miles and the transmission fluid every
20,000 miles.  Is there a need to change the timing belt on it?  Does it
have a timing belt or timing chain that needs attention at ...

There are 4 holes.  Someone said to use a coat hanger.  True?
'(@ Eddie....Can it do it?26 Jun 2005 05:36 GMT15
I apparently have to make an emergency drive from Nebraska to Florida to
pick up my horse. Since I have a '92 EB and it only has the factory bumper
hitch, will that be safe enough to pull a two horse trailer 2400 miles? I
dragged my old Bronco II behind me farther than that ...
Re: the fire problem with the cruise control cut off switch next to the brake master cylinder25 Jun 2005 17:25 GMT7
This problem was in a local paper where F 150's have caught fire from
faulty cruise control cut off switches. They said the same switches
are in some Explorers such as my 2002.
The switch is 20 or so dollars.

Difference between '98 and '00 Explorers23 Jun 2005 19:40 GMT3
I have just traded in my '98 Ex for a '00 Ex. The '00 is a UK spec 'North
Face' which I believe to be the nearest equvalent spec to the EB in other
markets. Anyway, apart from the obvious styling and trim differences I was
wondering if the '00 is higher geared?  It seems to be ...

I just baught a 2000 explorer with the 4.0 motor. The check engine light

unplugged. I don't want to pay any body to plug in a hose or even unplug
it. So where is this sensor, what does it look like?
1995 explorer dies when.............23 Jun 2005 12:02 GMT1
My 1995 explorer is difficult to start, after city driving.  The idle
rpm drops real low and  it will die if the accelerator is not pressed.
I can drive it but when I come to a stop the rpms fall low and it
tries to die. This does not happen every time it is driven but I

Bad Experience With Ford Warranty23 Jun 2005 04:34 GMT1
I recently had a bad experience that may not be newsworthy, but I feel
a need to share it.  This experience has taught me a valuable lesson
about which automobile manufacturers to avoid.
I purchased my 1996 Ford Explorer Limited 4x4 in 1996 so I would have a
Power antenna 'drive chain' replacement22 Jun 2005 22:26 GMT2
The 'drive chain' on my antenna is broken. Part of it is still in the
motor and doesn't move when the motor is running.
Is there a way to get to and open the motor to remove the broken part
without removing the motor?
What year to buy22 Jun 2005 13:44 GMT2
I am considering an explorer. I have a F150 now but it is tight for a family
of 4. I am thinking about an explorer but I want one with the 4.6 V8. I pull
a 2 place sled trailer and I am wondering if the 4.0 SOHC would be as good
as the V8 or should I stick with the V8. What kind fo ...
Blinking light on dash22 Jun 2005 13:39 GMT1
On occasion when I start my Explorer, the air bag blinks 3 times, pauses
and then blinks 7 times. This is repeated a few times and then the light
stays on. Sometimes is does the self check and goes off.
Any ideas what gives?
