97 limited steering chatter17 Jun 2005 21:00 GMT1
I just purchased a 97 limited(120k) and one of my concerns is the chatter
when cornering,parking,etc- it sounds like I may need to replace the box.
I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem, what you've done
about it etc.

I just changed my water pump on a 91 explorer, now the temp guage goes
straight to just past the L on NORMAL after about a mile it goes to about
between the M and A. After that it stays there. Does anyone have an idea
about this. It is a pushrod 4.0.
for Jim Warman, a bit OT15 Jun 2005 22:44 GMT4
Hey Jim, not an Explorer question, but rather about my 2000 Ranger 4X4..I've

pads on. The manual listed 38-44 Ft lbs for caliper bolt torque spec, this
setting broke an old bolt, and a new bolt too. Must be ...

My disc changer in the armrest/console (96 EB V8 AWD) had stopped changing
discs and plays erratically. Would buying a new cartridge/carrier help or is
there an aftermarket replacement that plugs up to factory deck?

94 muffler ?15 Jun 2005 12:44 GMT6
My daughter says her muffler is going out and is looking for a cheap
replacement as the vehicle probably won't last  much over a year or two.
Midas quoted about $130.00.  Are the mufflers welded on or are they clamped
and an easy replacement?  I've searched the net a bit and see ...

Please help.  My '97 4L SOHC set Powertrain codes 442, 420 and 174.
Not havng a lot of time or $$$ right now I tried clearing them to pass
the new OBDII inpection but then failed anyway - I have to drive it 200
miles so it can reset the codes and they gave me ten days to do that.
