| Radio off delay - 2002 XLT | 06 Jun 2005 13:22 GMT | 6 |
My radio stays on after the key is turned off. I seem to remember some mention of a way to disable this feature in the manual, but now I can't find it. Does anyone know how it's done? Thanks.

| 98 trans beginning to get flaky | 04 Jun 2005 19:05 GMT | 3 |
The trans of my 98 Explorer (4WD, SOHC, 5spd AOD) is beginning to have a problem deciding which gear it wants to be in. It does a lot of up and down-shifting under either light or moderate acceleration - but, so far - only when it is thoroughly warmed up. The first few miles of ...

My 91 with 126 K miles has a problem with the elctrical system. Volt meter on the dash wanders on the high side. I have put a voltmeter across the batter with the engine running and read 14.5 to 15.5 with a steady frequency. Checked the alt at Autozone on and off the car and ...

Have a '98 Exp. with 4.0L V6. Like some help on these "performance chips" that are available on current market. Has anyone used them? How about the intake air kits from K&N and others?

| 2002 Explorer electrical question | 03 Jun 2005 03:10 GMT | 1 |
While looking into an A/C problem, I happened to check the ratings on all the fuses in the high current fuse box under the hood. Quite a few of them (like 7 or 8) are not the same rating as listed in the owner's manual. Could the manual be wrong? I can't imagine someone ...

I have noticed that Ford is recommending that tires be replaced after six years, regardless of the remaining tread. Apparently, they have determined that the tire's internal components are subject to failure after 6 years and the tires are no longer safe. Ford also says to ...

Any advance info on significant changes planned for the 06 model year? The design is probably frozen by now, and very little chance of significant changes between now and September.

| My 97' Eddie Bauer Explorer | 01 Jun 2005 04:57 GMT | 1 |
Recently while driving my truck no more than 26 miles to and from to work my temperature gage will fluctuate to hot. But as I check under my hood the engine's cool. My on-board computer also says "engine temp ok." As I stop for a minute and let the truck idle, when I take off again ...

| Explorer 5.0 DPFE Sensor Location | 01 Jun 2005 02:34 GMT | 3 |
I have a replacement DPFE, and I'm ready to get rid of the pesky MIL indicator (check engine light) so I can get my '97 Explorer inspected and avoid paying the NC government $250 for emissions issues. :-) PROBLEM: Can't locate the darned thing on the engine.
