Need Advice Before Buying Explorer23 Aug 2005 03:25 GMT7
I need a vehicle for occasional trips on rough dirt/gravel roads and
dealing with some mud and maybe fording less than a foot of water. I'm
not going to be doing any off-road stuff, just dusty washboard/potholes
and rocks on rough roads, and trying not to get stuck in soft spots. I
faint gasoline odor-94 explorer...22 Aug 2005 16:03 GMT2
I smell gasoline especially when the A/C is on.  I don't see any leaks,
"washed off" clean areas, ect under the hood.  Is there a common gas leak
culprit on the Explorer??
Thanks!
2002 Explorer Seats22 Aug 2005 15:37 GMT7
A friend has a 2002 Eddie Bauer that she likes, except for the front seats.
They worsen her back problems. Adding a back rest and seat pad have not
helped. She is at the point of either replacing the seats, or replacing the
car.
1997 explorer outside mirrors22 Aug 2005 15:29 GMT1
I was thinking about purchasing a set of aftermarket outside heated mirrors
for my 97 explorer and was wondering if the factory had already put the
wires to connect the heater in the space where the original power mirrors
are located.  Also, I have a broken seat latch, the one that ...

on after brake inspection.  Brake shoes are ok.  Why is the light still
on?

I need some help figuring out what could be the problem of my battery being

the morning it would not start and the light inside car was dim.   I got a
jump start and went to work. Then, a few hours later, I ...

Can anyone tell me ahead of time what the scheduled intervals are for
engine service? I'm about to purchase an "02 Premier edition with 24k
miles. The car is certified for 6yrs/75k. I have not seen the extended
warrantee for coverage to 100k. Any opinions as to whether or not it is
replacing 4wd speed sensors on a 98 (due to flashing 4wd lights)20 Aug 2005 14:49 GMT7
I've got a 98 v6 sohc and I've got the infamous flashing 4WD hi/
4WD low light problem. From doing a search I've found that it is
probably a faulty speed sensor (I thought that it might be) and that
they are located in the transfer case. Has anyone replaced them
Oil In Intake on '9220 Aug 2005 02:08 GMT14
When my '92 EB with the 4.0 V6 has been sitting for a while it will run
rough when I first start it up and white smoke comes out of the tailpipe.
There is oil in the intake (the plastic tube that goes from the air cleaner
to the intake manifold) where the crankcase breather is ...

99Ford explorer does fuel filter  have anything to do with battery dying?18 Aug 2005 22:16 GMT5
My 99 ford explorer has recently started dying. It only happens
occasionally...most of the time it will not want to start after sitting
for over about 5 hours. I will have to keep my foot on the gas, so that
the battery will not die. Once it gets going it is fine and then it
