'05 Ford Explorer Power Outlet17 Aug 2005 04:59 GMT1
I just got a new '05 Ford Explorer XLS and I was disappointed to find
out there is only one 12V power outlet in the whole truck. I need at
least two outlets one for my radar detector and the 2nd would be used
intermittently for various other uses including a cell phone charger or ...

I have a 1984 Ford E-150.  The start position on the ignition switch will
not operate the starter.  I have been starting the van by connecting a
wire from one of the small terminals on the starter relay to the positive
terminal on the battery. Could this problem be associated with a ...

Wheel bearings16 Aug 2005 14:47 GMT7
I have a 99 Merc Mountaineer (Ford Explorer). The truck has 42k miles.
It was making a loud humming front end noise, which was the result of
a bad front wheel bearing and the other front bearing going bad. I had
them replaced and the problem is solved, although an $800 job.

Oil Filter Magnets?15 Aug 2005 06:09 GMT3
I've been reading a lot of articles lately about using magnets together with
the oil filter to trap metalic micro-shavings.  One version was a flexible
wrap that went on the outside of the filter, another version looked like a
capsule that was dropped into the input opening of ...

Can I do this?13 Aug 2005 19:15 GMT1
Is it possible to re-tighten the drivebelt tensioner in a 1991 Explorer or,
will I need a new apparatus? It seems that the pulley is rubbing against the
tensioner itself. In particular the part that juts out and accepts the bolt
that holds the pulley. ( I hope someone understands ...
Radiator Exploded on '9213 Aug 2005 05:10 GMT9
While I was driving up a steep dirt hill in 4WD my '92 EB lost power.  The
temp gauge was about 2/3 the way up.  It just would not go any more.  It did
not feel like the transmission was slipping and the tach was reading around
2500-3000 rpm or so.  I shut off the engine to let it ...

Ok, I guessed the fan/accessory/serpentine belt (what are they called
these days?) is loose, also confirmed as my "volts" gauge was
