I just got a new '05 Ford Explorer XLS and I was disappointed to find out there is only one 12V power outlet in the whole truck. I need at least two outlets one for my radar detector and the 2nd would be used intermittently for various other uses including a cell phone charger or ...

| Wheel bearings | 16 Aug 2005 14:47 GMT | 7 |
I have a 99 Merc Mountaineer (Ford Explorer). The truck has 42k miles. It was making a loud humming front end noise, which was the result of a bad front wheel bearing and the other front bearing going bad. I had them replaced and the problem is solved, although an $800 job.

| Can I do this? | 13 Aug 2005 19:15 GMT | 1 |
Is it possible to re-tighten the drivebelt tensioner in a 1991 Explorer or, will I need a new apparatus? It seems that the pulley is rubbing against the tensioner itself. In particular the part that juts out and accepts the bolt that holds the pulley. ( I hope someone understands ...

While I was driving up a steep dirt hill in 4WD my '92 EB lost power. The temp gauge was about 2/3 the way up. It just would not go any more. It did not feel like the transmission was slipping and the tach was reading around 2500-3000 rpm or so. I shut off the engine to let it ...
