Procedure to replace inlet manifold o ring on 99 explorer 4.0l SOHC ?30 Nov 2005 21:53 GMT4
Reading through many posts I have come to the conclusion that this
gasket/o ring is bad in my wifes car. When it is cold the car revs up
when started and then dies to almost a stall, then revs back up then
back to just above a stall. I have cleaned the IAC and that does not

My '94 Explorer pings horribly whenever I put regular octane gas in it.
The pinging is worst when I accelerate.  I've been putting premium gas
in it and that helps quite a bit, but it still pings whenever I
accelerate into a stiff wind.  I've changed spark plugs, wires, air

Hi, My 98 Explorer 112,000 miles, don't wants to start. It only start when I
press the gas, when I let go the gas,  the rpm go down and the truck shut
off. Does anyone have any idea what that might be?

I just purchased my first explorer.  It is a 1997 4WD automatic.  I
have a (possibly dumb) question about keyless entry.  The vehicle seems
to have manual locks.  Each door and the rear must be hand
locked/unlocked and there is no unlock button for all doors.  However

I've got a problem with the windows on my 2002 XLT.  All 4 windows are
frozen (it just got cold here in CT).  I hear the motors operating
when I use the switches so I know it's not an electrical problem.

Ok everytime my car cools off like for couple of hours 6 maybe
basicllay evertime i go to sleep and wake up the next morning and i
turn on my car it just shakes and it dosnt idle at all its looks like

Am wondering if there is a way to determine if the rear springs on my '96
(106k miles) are sagging, or if it's just my imagination? It seems to ride
rougher than in the past, and I seem to get more people flashing headlights
as if my high-beams were on. Is even worse with two people ...

Temp Guage Fluctuation - 98 Explorer27 Nov 2005 16:22 GMT5
When I start my 98 and allow it to come to running temp (~1/3 full
scale on temp guage), when i turn my heater fan on with temp set to hot
the temp guage drops to "C".  Any suggestions as what the problem might
be?  My first guess is the coolant temp sensor.

when this started happening i noticed that the cold idle would go to 1500
rpm, then take it's time to come down to normal, then when warm it still
goes to 1500 rpm then comes down to normal rpm a little quicker, at the
same time the transmission shifts normal, but between 45 and 55 ...

rpm goes to 1500 on cold srart then takes it's time coming down to 650,
even when engine is warm, then when auto trans is in high gear it will
keep shifting back and fourth from overdrive to 3rd, at 45to 55 miles per
hour. any help would be apreciated, thanks.
