Anything new on this? I can only find old posts. Mines getting worse
at 74,000 miles.
Has it led to any rear ends failing?

New Cross Terrains louder?21 Dec 2005 04:53 GMT4
2002 Explorer.  Got 55K miles out of the original set and very happy
with them.  Never noisy for an SUV tire.  Just bought a new set and
they are much louder.  Like an aggressive truck tire.  I don't recall
any significant sound when new on the first set.
1998 explorer 4wd 4.0 6 cyclinder,auto trans20 Dec 2005 12:51 GMT2
I bought 98 explorer, ran perfect for 3 or for days then in the morning
it would not start, it would start up and  then if you hit the gas it
would die, then it would turn over fine but not start.  Could it be the
igniter, or fuel pump or what else.  regards david

Manual transmission back lash19 Dec 2005 17:11 GMT4
This is on a 2000  V6 3.0 Ranger - a little off topic, but I figure I have been around this group for enough years to beg some forgiveness.
:o)
I just bought this for my boy - 2 wheel drive, about 61,000 miles.
Releasing gas pedal produces a real thunk from below - sounds like ...
Bizarro thing happened to the outside rearview mirror18 Dec 2005 04:05 GMT1
Thwacked 'ears' with another vehicle and the glass+carriage popped right
out.   Of course, it ripped one of the heater-element contacts off the
heater film, so the heater is no longer going to work.
On the plus side (and my reason for posting), is to say that the carriage
02 Explorer Died and won't start...Security System?17 Dec 2005 18:57 GMT4
I left my explorer running, ran into a gas station to get a soda.  I
came out, put it in Reverse, then noticed that it had died.  I tried to
restart (still in Reverse), remembered to put it back in park, turned
the key and it won't turn over.  I get dash lights, but nothing else.
Here we go again - CEL17 Dec 2005 03:44 GMT5
Another winter, another CEL.  Everytime it gets cold outside my 2000
explorer stumbles and studers when started.  After a minute of running the
engine idles smoothly.
Please don't tell me the IAC needs cleaned or the MAF sensor needs replaced.
2003 EB Explorer17 Dec 2005 03:33 GMT2
We recently purchased a 2003 Eddie Bauer Explorer.
Whilst driving with speed control engaged, It felt as though the brakes were
being applied.
I also subscribe to an Expedition news group and the following TSB was
