Recently I took my 96 Explorer to a shop because my odometer and trip
meter stopped running. The speedo gauge still worked fine, but
ultimately the problem was found to be in the speedo, and it was
rebuilt.

My 1996 Ford Explorer AWD V-8, just started squealing/chirping (kind of

the timing chain cover.  It seems to get quieter when I rev the engine
or accelerate.  I originally thought it was an idler pulley or the

Gas Leak14 Dec 2005 17:09 GMT3
I own a 1994 Explorer and I've noticed that when I fill the tank up, gas
leaks from what appears to be the middle of the vehicle. The first time I
noticed it, I thought the attendant had over done it in terms of filling it,
to get a round number $$, but since then I've done it ...

I have Michelin 30x9.5 RI5 LT 104R LTX M/S tires. These are the tires I
replaced the Firestones with.  The Michelin website says Max. load is

96 Explorer Sport Shifter Lockout12 Dec 2005 23:25 GMT3
So who's idea was it to use a solonoid to lock the shifter anyway?
Yeah, it's nice and safe and everything, but when it malfunctions at a drive
thru it's a real pain in the but.
Can I leave this out of the circuit without any problems?
