"whining" noise from aux. output from stereo04 Jan 2006 19:15 GMT4
I get a whining noise from the stereo when playing mp3 player with the
player's charger connected to the cigarette lighter. I read somewhere that
someone had a similar problem & had to install a filter. I couldn't find
the post. Can anyone help? Thank you.
will not idle when first started, motor dies. 1998 Sport SOHC 404 Jan 2006 13:45 GMT4
The motor starts but dies if you do not hold the gas petal down. This
has happened twice in about 5 weeks. I can get the car to start and
run normal if I start the car and hold down the petal so the engine is
running 1500 to 2000 RPM. After a moment of running the engine above

95 Ford explorer- 110K repl fuel pump03 Jan 2006 20:24 GMT6
Fuel pump will work if you tap on fuel tank with rubber mallet or
2x4.Switching relays out will help at time for no start.
Anyone know if you have to drop the tank on an EB or is there an access
panel under the back seat/cargo area?
'03 Mountaineer V8 Burned A Quart03 Jan 2006 13:44 GMT5
I noticed that my '03 Mountaineer V8 is almost ready for it's 45,000 mile
oil change (I change every 5000). I also noticed that it's down a
quart...never did that before. No leaking either. Is this a potential
problem, or just normal aging?

Spare Tire Assembly01 Jan 2006 22:25 GMT3
I got a flat and was able to remove the spare tire easily.  The guy who
repaired the flat said that he was unable to store the spare back where it
belonged.  The assembly will only lower about 5 inches and then seems to get
stuck and won't lower further.

I find plenty for late models, but none for the "classics".

My purchased-new '96 Explorer with 119k miles currently has its ABS
warning light on. As always, it lights when starting the engine but now
stays on solidly. I have yet to take it out on a gravel road to check out
the ABS's function. The ABS has never had issues in the past ten ...

1997 Mercury Mountaineer aka Explorer.  The overhead display that gives the
external temperature varies from 108-104 degrees F.  I'm guessing the sensor
is bad?  Where is the sensor located or possible wire colors?  Does this
sound like a problem from just a bad sensor or maybe ...
Windshield Washer Sqirter01 Jan 2006 16:08 GMT7
I have a 2003 Explorer Sport, and the other day, my front washer fluid
sprayer quit spraying. Has anyone had this happen and is their a simple
solution? Both the left & right don't spray, so I'm thinking there may
be a clog at the bottom of the fluid tank, but perhaps a fuse for ...
