Can someone please run a carfax for me?23 May 2006 22:06 GMT8
Hello, I am wondering if anyone out there can run a vin check for me. I
think the prices are rediculous to just check out one car. Some places
charge $30 for one car and like $35 for unlimited.
I would be very greatful if there was someone who happened to have an
Another Radio question23 May 2006 09:31 GMT2
I have a 1998 Ford Explorer EB model, with a power antenna, and a 6 disc
CD changer. I replaced the radio/CD with a Sony model, and the power
antenna work fine with that, but not the CD changer. I also have a 1999
Ford Windstar and replaced the radio in that with a Pioneer ...
Indestructible?23 May 2006 05:11 GMT2
We bought a used 1996 Explorer XLT a little over a year ago for our daughter
after the birth of our first grandchild, to put her in a safer and more
reliable vehicle.  At the time, it had 188,000 (one family - original
owners) miles.  Since then, there have been very minor problems, ...

Been a while since I posted, but have a question before I'm off to the shop!
99 ,4 Dr., Limited, 65,000 mi. 4.0 eng.
From out of nowhere, had the "ABS" light on the dash come on and stays on!
Had a Dealer brake job completed about 8,000 mi. ago, so brakes are good.
1996 Explorer "Supplemental" Alarm System Problems22 May 2006 18:06 GMT3
I have a 1996 Explorer XLT with what I'm calling a "supplemental" alarm
system installed.  It almost looks like an aftermarket install, but as
far as I can tell it's a Ford alarm, since the remote has the FORD
emblem on it.  The remote has 2 buttons: ARM and DISARM.  There's also
Ford Exploerer 19922 May 2006 17:16 GMT1
I have a question.  I bought a 1999 from a used car lot.  Looked great, I was happy.  2 weeks later, my head gasket broke.  That is the first of my problems with it!!  I was wondering, does anyone have problems with thier 1999's?

Well, first the brakes went, now the door-latch snapped. Maybe I should
lay off the free-weights at the gym?
Could anyone give me pointers on how to take the interior door panel
off? I realze that if the mechanism has actually snapped, I will need

Oil Pressure Alert/Check Engine Light?17 May 2006 15:31 GMT1
Starting a few months ago, every now and then the check
engine light would remain on after I started my 2000
Explorer when it was cold.   At that time it would happen
perhaps once a week, and the light would remain on for
98EB A/C issue16 May 2006 17:30 GMT2
My 98 Explorer SOHC A/C stopped working late last summer and the dealer
indicated that the accumulator (drier) was seeping and had some rust issues
(blend door is OK).  They recommended replacing it and the pressure cycling
switch but wanted over $500.  I decided to wait till ...
2001 Ford Explorer Starting Problem15 May 2006 04:32 GMT10
I'm hoping someone can figure this out. My wife has a 2001 Ford
Explorer with the V6 4.0. We were having a problem to where it would
not crank without pressing the accelarator and I thought I had it
solved on two seperate occasions. First time someone suggested that it
'98 Ford Explorer - Sluggish starting?15 May 2006 04:32 GMT3
I've got a '98 Ford Explorer Sport with the 4L SOHC V6 engine.
Unfortunately, it's starting getting very sluggish when trying to
start. One time it took me several minutes and several tries to get it
to finally start. I don't believe it's the starter or the battery since
rear wire harness14 May 2006 19:18 GMT2
I have a 1994 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer edition.  I recently put a tow
hitch on it.  In the process I found tucked under the rear bumper a
wiring harness that lookes like it would be for a towing package (
lights, directional signals, etc.).  It even as a plug on the end that
- DSCF4399.JPG (0/2) Spare Trans Part14 May 2006 15:54 GMT2
I'm hoping somebody has seen this before. I was performing a 60K mile
service on my 2002 4.6L Expedition automatic transmission-fluid, filter
and gasket. The transmission is a 4R70W, which I believe is also used
with the Explorer 4.6L V8, which is why I'm posting to this group. When
