I have a 2003 Explorer Sport 4.1, with 103,000, and it has begun leaking
coolant from the rear of the engine compartment. I am not a mechanic,
but would like to know if anyone knows what I need to be fixed to stop it.
Thanks
A basic question... Hopefully I can get suggestions...10 Sep 2006 16:25 GMT1
I recently bought a '99 Ford Explorer XLT (4dr 2wd model).  Anyway, I
wanted to add a toggle switch to the dash or underneath) so that I can
control something (like a fake alarm led light, like those found at Radio
Shack etc...) or I wanted to wire a device (any device) that only ...
My E85 Experience10 Sep 2006 16:16 GMT4
My '04 Explorer is a flexible fuel vehicle, meaning it can run on E85.
I've been waiting for years for a gas station to stock E85 so I can
try it.  Well, I finally found a station near where I work
(Schaumburg, Il) that has E85, so I tried a couple of tank fulls.
brake lights not working10 Sep 2006 15:42 GMT2
The brake light at the top of my rear window is working, but the ones on
the body are not! Already got pulled over for it.
Looked for a fuse problem but not sure where else to look.
Any help would be appreciated.

I have a 1999 Explorere with 118,000km on it. 4.0L engine. Lately have
been noticing a bit of clacking when under load such as entering an
uphill grade when on cruise. Sounds almost like rocker arm clack like in
some of the older straight six engines. No problem with power, kicks ...

Hi I have a 97 Ford Explorer 4.0 SOHC that has like a diesel sound

No turn signals work but flashers do!!05 Sep 2006 06:32 GMT2
I have a '92 Ford Explorer and when I signal a left turn the light
inside does not come on and nor do the exterior signals.  When i signal
a right turn the interior light stays on rather than blink, but still
front nor rear exterior lights work.  Although when I turn the 4-way
Radius Arm Bushings---Need Advice05 Sep 2006 06:30 GMT1
I recently changed the bushings on my '93 explorer with Dealer parts
and now the clunking when I brake is worse than ever.
I'm wondering if I could have put the nylon spacers on the wrong way
around.  The ones I replaced had the cup facing the nuts so I put the

Goodyear Wrangler Tires04 Sep 2006 14:28 GMT2
I just replaced four Goodyear Wrangler RT/S tires on my '97 Explorer.
They had a little over 70,000 miles on them, with still some treadlife
left, but the noise they were making was unbelievable.  I thought the
front hub assemblies were going out again  (the bearings failed at 60k
Long shot question04 Sep 2006 13:34 GMT3
I'm looking at a trailer hitch that came off a 1996
Ford Ranger to fit my 1993 Ford Explorer. Any
chance that it'll fit? I know it's the same chasis
(is it?) but for different model years? Hitch is
Front Drivetrain Noise03 Sep 2006 23:08 GMT1
So, I went out and bought some mudder tires and of course the "Free
Replacement Warranties".  I had to collect on one due to an improper placed
nail. They put a new tire on the right front and said I'd be okay ( I have
the AWD ) beings the tread depth difference was only 2/32nds ...
Timing Chain Tensioner03 Sep 2006 12:58 GMT6
My son is looking at a 1998 Explorer which has the 4.0L OHV
V6 engine (not the SOHC).  It looks and runs great except for one
thing.  When the engine starts there is a squeal that lasts about
a second.  I've heard this noise on other Fords but have never
