I had my 97 Explorer (4.0 OHV with 125K miles) into the dealer today for a
rough running engine with no check engine light.  The tech listed the

I have a 97 XLT with 4.0 SOHC.  I have a problem when I move the heater into
the defrost (upper vent) position.  At idle, when in this position I hear a
loud click and the engine bogs down to about 400 rpm then recovers.  Three

Diagnosed as needing a new transfer case.
Guy took a caliper and measured the diameter of each tire and found
the right front to be about 1/2" smaller than others and declared that

I do have Explorer sport 4x4 ohm engine and 58000 miles on it. Until
yesterday ran just fine. I had to leave, truck was still warm, started  but

Does not always happen..sometimes I can get COOL air on the COLD
position other times it's HOT air all the time. Is the valve inside the
engine bay on the passenger side ? Looks like a vacuum valve on the
heater hoses.

attractive price.  Has anyone used these on their Ford

i have a 2000 xls 4wd 4.0 ohv i repaced the rack and tie rod ends about a
year ago and just replaced all of the ball joints and end links last
weekend when i was done and took it for a test ride there is a rattle and
a thump in the front passenger side wheel well so i took it back ...

Upper (left) big hose is HOT and the lower (bottom Right) hose and
radiator is COLD after driving for 1/2 hour. Temp gauge always on COLD.

I just bought a 2002 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer with the HomeLink system
installed. I love everything about it except the fact that the HomeLink
doesn't work! I believe the only problem is no power to the unit. There
are no lights lighting up; however, I tried programming it anyway ...

I just rebuilt the front end of my 2000 xls 4WD 4.0L. I replaced the
shocks, ball joints, wheel bearings, end links and an inner tie rod. I
also raised the front by about a 1/4 inch via the torsion bars. When I
went to get a alignment they told me the right side camber was off by -1 ...

I'm thinking of replacing the factory headunit in my '05 Explorer
XLT...it does not eject CDs on demand and is out of warranty. It
currently has the standard AM/FM, single CD system with factory sub.

I have problem with my Ford Explorer 1994(Manual)4x4.1,40,000 miles.
When i change the gear i can't seem to find it.I will go for 1st and it
will slip in either third or 5th.Or won't find the gear at all.I need
some advice before I get ripped off by a mechanic for whatever he tells

Everybody's OK, just some bruises, though our Labrador was pretty upset
about being taken back home ( Hey! I *KNOW* we were going camping! You
can't take me home! )
