2002 Ford Explorer A/C Problem20 Oct 2006 20:27 GMT1
The A/C unit in my 2002 Ford Explorer XLT has always worked great.
Today it suddenly stopped working after my wife had the oil changed. I
have checked the Fuses and Relays, even switched the relays around from
the auto light control to see if one was bad.

the Michelin LTX M/S which I had put on there during the first recall.
The local Firestone people will replace only with ...

Explorer update in 1995- good?19 Oct 2006 07:39 GMT4
What's the consensus on the success of the changes Ford made to the
Explorer in 1995- were they good?
I'm shopping for an Explorer, and most familiar with the 1994 which I
really liked. It's going to be a secondary vehicle for use when I'm
2005 Explorer rear differential whine18 Oct 2006 17:41 GMT6
I have had my Explorer for two weeks and yesterday I noticed a whine
from the rear-end under very light acceleration.  Thought it was road
noise at first. I crawled under to have a look yesterday and noticed
fluid on the outside of the rear differential and some fluid splattered
2006 Ford Explorer Interior Door Handles17 Oct 2006 13:36 GMT1
I notice that Ford in there infinite widom fixed the door handle
location so that the interior door handle closer is now in the arm rest
in the 2007 Explorer models. It appears that it is identical to the
2006 therefore has anybody tried to retrofit?? The local dealership
Mud flaps on `05 Explorer16 Oct 2006 17:45 GMT2
I bought some mud flap (or splash guards) for my `05 Explorer this
weekend at Cabelas because the dealship wanted $41 a pair and another
$40 to install each pair. I though that was a bit much. But, it looks
to be a harder job than I thought.  The front fender does not have a
ATF in PS Reservoir16 Oct 2006 15:55 GMT1
I added about a 1/4 cup of Mercon V ATF to my PS reservoir.
Immediately realizing my mistake, I siphoned out all of the PS fluid and ATF
in the reservoir and refilled it with PS fluid, I then siphoned out all of
the fluid again and refilled it a second time with PS fluid, I then ...
Flashing OD light16 Oct 2006 05:02 GMT2
My 95 Explorer suddenly started flashing the OD Off light. Overdrive still
works but the 1-2 upshift and downshift is very harsh. Anyone have an idea
what could be causing this? I was driving off road and am now looking for
any wiring damage under the car.
open door beeper beeps witn out keys in the ignition15 Oct 2006 19:11 GMT3
Its a 2000 ford explorer. The beeper that clangs when you open the door
with your keys in the ignition beeps even with out keys in the ignition. I
suspect it is a door switch, but I don't have a clue how to either verify
that or find it or replace it.
Really persistent Service Engine Soon / gas-cap problem14 Oct 2006 20:16 GMT2
My daughter has a 2002 Limitted with a history that now involves at
least 10 trips to Ford dealer for the reason stated in the subject
line.  Most fueling system parts have been replaced -- Yet the problem
persists.  Searching past threads on this group does not reveal any
Ford Explorer. Power Windows, Erratic or inoperative13 Oct 2006 21:32 GMT5
Rear windows work . Driver window only makes a loud "CLUNK' , no motion
up or down. Passenger window all the way down, no power, could not
manually raise. Removed the passenger side panel, found no 12 volt
supply to the switch. Fuses OK, power to the locks and rear windows.
Sudden increase in RPM cured by depressing pedal?????13 Oct 2006 17:14 GMT6
I was driving ('97 Explorer) at highway speed when I heard something
under the hood very loudly and very rapidly increase in RPM. My first
thought was the engine had slipped out of drive, but taking my foot
off the accelerator had no effect and the RPM gauge was falling.

I have a '99 Ford Explorer XLT 4L, 4WD SUV. 118,000KL on it. Lately I

Today..this morning, I backed it out of the garage and drove over town
