02 Ford Explorer no Brake Lights or Rear Turn Signals20 Nov 2006 03:03 GMT5
My 2002 Ford Explorer's brake lights and rear turn signals are not
working.  The top rear brake light is working.  The front turn signals
work but blink really fast.
I checked both bulbs and the fuse, they are all good.

Have a '96 Explorer XLT V8 and odometer stopped working.  Have 89 000
on vehicle.  Spedometer still works fine.  Any ideas?  Help!  Is this
a thing that has to go to the dealer?

All I hear when I turn the key is a distinct clicking noise but it just
runs down the battery.
Any suggestions?

A little over 4 months ago I took my '05 XLT back to the dealer I
bought it used from because the right rear brake was occaisionally
dragging while starting out or very slowly creeping in traffic or at a

This is my first Explorer and I'm looking for suggestions, and/or
advice, on the best/easiest way to change the spark plugs on my '98
Explorer V8?  Would removing the fender liners/skirts make the job easier?

1997 4.0 OHV 2WD XLT 4-door explorer with ~130K miles
I've had a slow oil leak for awhile.  Thus far I've replaced the intake
manifold (upper and lower) and valve cover gaskets.  I took it to a mechanic
earlier this week and they diagnosed it as a leaking rear main seal.  They

In the past, I have had several sets of LTX M/S tires on my Explorers
and agree with everyone who says they are a great tire.  I am planning
to replace the original Goodrich tires soon on my '05 as they have

If you're familiar with these, I'm trying to understand how this works,
and what the problems are. Near as I can tell, it works like this:
There is a separate cam chain and tensioner for each head. The cam for
driver's side head is driven by a chain on the front of the engine,

garage says when they get it back it starts fine. No codes tripped.
