2000 Explorer XLT 4.0 L Irregular idle30 Jul 2007 21:03 GMT1
Upon start up my 2000 Explorer revs up and down until it stalls.  This
only happens when the engine is cold and the outside air temp is below
60 degrees. In warm weather it runs fine.  I've replaced the mass
airflow sensor and had a mech check for vacuum leaks, but still no

Brake Shimmy29 Jul 2007 16:14 GMT3
I recently had the rotors and calipers ( by different shops ) replaced
on my 2001 Econoline XL ( 5.4 L ).   I was getting a slight
'pulsation' as I came to a stop.  I was told the rotors were 'warped'
and the calipers needed replacement.
How Hard To Remove Auto Trans on '92?27 Jul 2007 20:25 GMT2
My automatic transmission is gushing fluid on my '92 EB.  I have
disconnected the driveshaft and removed the transfer case.  I called about
renting a transmission jack but it's going to be difficult and rather
expensive as I'd have to drive pretty far to get it and return it (or ...
Enable Daytime Running Lights on 2007 Explorer (US)26 Jul 2007 03:18 GMT3
Does anyone know how to do this? I think it may be a programming change
after talking to my old mechanic who is very knowledgeable, and also the
parts department at the Ford dealer could find no part for the DRL module.
If anyone has had this done, please let me know how you got ...
Loose battery connection or tuneup needed?26 Jul 2007 00:22 GMT7
I have a '93 Explorer Sport and just recently noticed that the engine surges
when it is in either drive or reverse and the needle on the battery gauge
will dip for just a short bit (less than a second).  Curiosity got the
better of me tonight on the way home and, when I stopped ...
Lose black cable coming from front differential26 Jul 2007 00:19 GMT3
I have a black cable that came loose which is attached to the front
differential.  It looks like a cable you would attach your cable
Television to.
Anyways, the end that is loose has a white plastic tip (I can't see
97 Explorer XLT dome lights?25 Jul 2007 02:40 GMT5
I'm trying to figure out how to keep the interior dome lights off (all
three of them) when i want to leave the tail gate up. I do a lot of surf
fishing with my explorer and the tail door gets opened quite a bit. I'd
like to leave it open when i'm on the beach.
gas cap loose but no check engine light????23 Jul 2007 19:46 GMT6
I'm still chasing gas smells and other odditites with my 94 Explorer XLT 4X4
V6 .
My latest experiment was to see if by loosening the gas cap the system was
smart enough to trip the "check engine light"--it didn't and I know the CE
How hard is it to replace seatbelt?22 Jul 2007 23:11 GMT4
I have a 1993 Explorer Sport and I need to take the old seatbelt and replace
it.  The stitching rotted out from where it attaches to the bracket in the
floorboard.  I found the bolt that holds the bracket in to the floorboard
and saw that I need a set of Torx drivers to take it ...
'99 Explorer - Several Questions22 Jul 2007 23:08 GMT12
I just purchased a '99 Explorer from a good friend.  He gave
me all the documents that came with it, including the
various manuals.  He had purchased this car new with all the
bells, whistles, and extra chrome available that year.
2005 Explorer - Air Conditioning Question21 Jul 2007 18:43 GMT1
I've got a 2005 Explorer - 4.0 6cyl and AT. With one exception, the A/C
works fine. At interstate speed with cruise control on, the airflow will
divert from the dashboard vents to the defroster vents when the vehicle
accelerates, such as climbing a hill. After I peak the hill, ...
Front Differential or CV Shafts?18 Jul 2007 19:13 GMT1
1996 EB AWD V8 w/247K miles.
I'm getting what I call a synchronous vibration which appears to be coming
from the front wheels.  The vibes increase and decrease with the speed of
the vehicle, but disappears completely whenever I turn to the right.
