anti-seize for spark plugs18 Jul 2007 06:36 GMT14
Is it advisable to use anti-seize for spark plus?
I will soon be changing my 2000 V8 plugs (82K).  If I use anti-seize on the
plug threads, will it prevent plugs from being 'welded' into block?
Thanks-this group is a real help to me!

Explorer rear wheels won't turn16 Jul 2007 04:54 GMT13
Just driving down the road and power stopped going to rear wheels.  My
1991 Explorer 4x4 has manual 5 speed, electric 4w drive selection, and
was in 2W High.  The 4W drive system has been inactive for the last 5
years and the 2 buttons don't do anything.  The clutch seems be
2001 Sport Trac Spark Plugs15 Jul 2007 20:51 GMT5
A freind want to change the plugs in her 2001 Sport Trac with around 100,000
miles. How difficult will this be? Any suggestions, warnings, or
recommendations? Is there a web site with pictures? How long should it take?
I figure the wires should be replaced as well.
Where is the 93 Ford Explorer Fuel Cut off Switch?14 Jul 2007 18:09 GMT2
I read the other topic on this, and I'm such a layman I have no idea
what they  meant by heaterbox and firewall.
Can someone slowly explain it as if I were from another planet or a
small, slow child?

96 Explorer Still Getting Front End Pop After Replacing...14 Jul 2007 06:55 GMT2
Upper and Lower Control Arms/Ball Joints and Inner Tie Rod Ends as per
dealer recommendation. It seems to get worse as the outside
temperature gets warmer. I get it sometimes when I'm braking,
accelerating, turning, turning up into the driveway, driving over a
No start condition12 Jul 2007 18:28 GMT9
Yesterday, my 94 XLT failed to start after the drive home from work.
Lots of battery and cranking but no start. Could not hear the fuel pump
running. Came back about 10:00 pm and it started like nothing was ever
wrong. So what should I check ahead of the fuel pump to diagnose and ...
A/C problems...perhaps12 Jul 2007 17:39 GMT3
Hi folks, hope you all had a great weekend.
My wife and I just returned from a 200 mile trip in our 98, 5.0 AWD.  It was
brought to my attention by my wife that the A/C blower was slowing down when
I accelerated or went up a gradual incline, I hadn't noticed it before she
94 Explorer Clutch fluid  Disappearing & clutch slip12 Jul 2007 15:43 GMT1
I have noticed that I have to refill the clutch reservoir every couple
of months and that recently the clutch is slipping a bit.... some how I
don't think it is a coincidence....
If clutch fluid comes in contact with the clutch components will it need
95 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer intermittent start and alarm problems.10 Jul 2007 15:41 GMT1
I am trying to get a few ideas on what I can check for this
problem. My Explorer has began to not start from time to time. It does
not seem to matter if it is hot or cold. It may go weeks and not mess
up at all, then out of the blue will not crank. Either it cranks and
Testing coil pack question 99XLT09 Jul 2007 16:24 GMT2
I recently did a tune up myself on my 99 XLT SOHC 63K miles. I
replaced the plugs, wires, PCV valve, and fuel filter. I still notice
an occasional miss at idle, other than that the truck runs fine. The
coil pack is original so I decided to take it out and test it.
1999/2000 Explorer Differences?09 Jul 2007 01:16 GMT1
I have 150,000 miles on my 2000 Explorer, which I purchased
new.  My other car was recently totaled, and I'm considering
replacing it with a 1999 Explorer with 75,000 miles on it,
thus becoming a 2-Explorer household.  The 1999 belongs to a
99 XLT SOHC 62K miles, when to change plugs?07 Jul 2007 18:39 GMT12
My truck runs fine , no problems. I thought I read in my manual that
the spark plugs should be changed at 100K. I was just woondering has
anyone changed theirs earlier and if there is any reason  for me to
change them now being my truck is 8 years old.
Fuel Vapor Canister removed completely06 Jul 2007 20:59 GMT3
The mechanics never found the problem and I got tired of breathing gas fumes
so I removed the Fuel Vapor Canister from my 94 Explorer and connected the
vapor line directly to the CANP line.
...so far, no fumes; just wondering what the down side is??  Emissions
