hey all,
i'm approaching 100k miles on my 2002 Eddie Bauer. I bought it at the
end of 2006 and haven't really done any routine maintenance on it
(aside from oil changes and rotations) so I would like to make sure I

99 Ford Explorer seems to slip in bad weather30 Jan 2008 17:12 GMT3
I am driving a 99 Ford Explorer with about 140K miles and I have
noticed on a couple of occasions the the front wheels seem to slip.
The first time it happened it was really snowy and icy but I didn't
put it together with the idea that it might be my 4WD. Then nothing
2002 Explorer 4WD intermittent problem30 Jan 2008 00:10 GMT4
In our only snow fall before the holidays i noticed the Auto 4WD

magic the 4WD was working again. Stopped working a few days later and
Alternate source for lock actuators ?29 Jan 2008 14:13 GMT3
I'm finding the need to replace a couple of lock actuators on my 2000
Mountaineer. Purchasing form the dealer is quite expensive, I was
wondering if anyone has come across a less expensive source for these
items. Any recommendations will be welcome.

will not eject. When I attempt to eject it, "Error" shows up on the
display. I bought the vehicle used.
Front Wheel Bearings24 Jan 2008 16:23 GMT8
I posted before about my '03 Mountaineer being loud. I was able to go on
a quiet stretch of highway at 60 mph then shift into neutral and shut
down the engine. Noise continues. So I guess that rules out drivetrain
and exhaust. BLUEOVALNEWS folks suggested front bearings and I do ...
2003 Ford Explorer Sport speaker replacement23 Jan 2008 12:56 GMT1
I am planning on replacing the (horrible) stock speakers found in my
Explorer Sport (2 dr model). I have the standard stereo with only 4
speakers ( at least I can only see four speaker grilles in my SUV) and
no sub-woofer in the trunk. Does anyone know what size speakers are in
Loud Explorer (Merc Mountaineer)22 Jan 2008 17:40 GMT2
My wife and I noticed that our 2003 Mountaineer V8 seems to have gotten
very loud. It's hard to tell what's going on, if anything....perhaps
it's just getting older....it was purchased in September 2002 and now
has 68,000 miles on it.
6 Cyl Economy as bad as 8!22 Jan 2008 15:11 GMT2
I am thinking about buying a new Mountaineer to replace my 2003
Mountaineer. I currently have the V8 that gets...surprise
surprise....13MPG around town and 19 on the road, exactly what the new
"real world" sticker rating estimates on new Mountaineers. I noticed

reality?
V6 Magnaflow vs Flowmaster18 Jan 2008 22:40 GMT2

4.0 SOHC V6.  i've heard arguments on both sides with no definite
numbers to back up either.  I can't find any good numbers or
testimonials on V6's.  i've heard that flowmasters dont flow as well
