Been trying to get the left (driver side) manifold out to replace gasket.
I tried following the removal procedure from alldatadiy.com, but can seem to
get the necessary clearance to get the manifold past the steering shaft.
Has anyone else done this procedure and know of some trick ...
1999 Explorer Transmission28 Mar 2008 06:25 GMT12
My wife was driving our '99 Explorer, 4wd SUV to town the other day.
When she got back she said the OD light had come on. I asked if she had
inadvertently pushed the button in, she said no. After shutting off the
vehicle and restarting, the light went out.

Service memos20 Mar 2008 13:08 GMT12
My dealership is claiming that there is a brand new memo that came out
stating that remote starters kill the battery for in 2006-2007 Explorers.
Is there anywhere I can find this information on Ford's website?  Is there a
national service hotline?  The vehicle ('07 Eddie Bauer) ...
Check gauge light17 Mar 2008 02:14 GMT2
I have a 1998 Mountaineer 5.0, AWD.  I recently noticed the Check gauge
light illuminating when I was very low on fuel.  Was that a coincidence?
All the other gauges were in their normal limits.  I am unable to find
anything in my owners manual about a low fuel warning.
02 Ford Explorer 4WD won't work15 Mar 2008 22:50 GMT2
My wife's Explorer's 4WD won't work.    I tested all the fuses, found
everything in good shape.     Tested the motor and it tested bad, so I
replaced the motor and still nothing.    Doesn't even sound like it's
trying to engage.    I am wondering about the module, but I have no

Hey Jim, any words "up your way" on when the TSB for the cruise control will
be fixed. No one down Texas way seems to have any words of wisdom! It was
initially to have been December, then moved to March and now seems to be
unknown....................
Weird sounds coming from back wheel..??11 Mar 2008 15:35 GMT1
At slow speeds my drivers back wheel has a really loud tick. I just got new
tires and it was doing it before that, so its not a rock. Just at speeds
under 20 mph. Its sounds like a playing card in a spoke of a bike tire but
10 times lounder and not good sounding. Anyone have any ...

Which bulb for instrument panel 99 XLT?05 Mar 2008 03:13 GMT2
I looked in the owners manual, but could not find the answer. On my A/
C and heat control panel, one of the backlights went out. When I
removed the bulb it looked like a 168 bulb. There were no markings on
the bulb. When I went to the auto parts store the counter guy said it
Heated Seat Failure03 Mar 2008 21:29 GMT4
The heated driver's seat in my '05 has quit working.  When I push the
button, the light on the dash shows that the heat is on but nothing
happens.  Someone posted in the Explorer Forum saying they had this
problem and the dealer told them it would cost around $1000 to fix. If
