Insturment panel lights30 Apr 2008 14:26 GMT3
I was deployed for a year and my 97 Explorer wasn’t driven very much
while I was gone. Now that I’m back the lights behind the insturment
panel and the air conditioner controles don’t turn on. I’ve checked
for damaged wiring or blown fuses and haven’t found any. What else
Disable 96 Explorer factory alarm26 Apr 2008 19:19 GMT-
This alarm is driving me crazy.  With the car unlocked, the alarm goes
off after opening a door.  It is a useless alarm for me and want to
know how to permanently disable it.  Cut a wire, pull a relay
our..anything to keep it from waking up the neighbors.
Rack & pinon25 Apr 2008 17:32 GMT7
I am loosing a lot of power steering fluid.  It appears to be coming from
the drivers side of the rack and pinon.  When I purchased the vehicle 4
years ago, (98 Mountiner, AWD) the dealer sent the vehicle to a independent
mechanic and he replaced the rack and pinon with a rebuilt ...
MPG Reading in Message Center24 Apr 2008 03:17 GMT2
I have a 2004 Explorer Limited (40K miles) with the V8 and AWD.
Yesterday while driving my MPG readout in my message center started to
change. It was reading a constant 17.2 mpg (I actually got 18.3
yesterday) and then in the matter of five minutes it went up to 53 or
2002 Ford Escape22 Apr 2008 19:59 GMT1
Out of the blue, my car won’t go in reverse properly. I have to floor
it for it to go back. If I am on a flat surface it goes back easier
than if I am on a hill. I really can’t afford to replace the
transmission. Can anyone give me an idea of what might be wrong. I

Can anyone tell me where the MAP sensor is located on a 2001 Explorer
(6cyl)?
Can this be changed easily by a non-mechanic?
Thanks, JC

Stuck CD16 Apr 2008 23:18 GMT3
I realize there is a newsgroup for Ford trucks, but there are hardly ever
any posts there.  My father in law has a 2006 F150 he recently bought used.
He just noticed the other week that there is a CD stuck in the stereo.  I
tried popping it out using another CD, but didn't have ...
ATF Replacement on a 199416 Apr 2008 18:51 GMT2
Well, my baby has served me for nearly 2-years and 50,000 miles but
now I believe I may have screwed-the-pooch. My tranny had always been
iffy; it took a good 5-miles of driving in the morning in 2nd-gear
before it'd drop into the higher ones. Well, this weekend, I decided
Rust on '03 Mountaineer02 Apr 2008 14:40 GMT5
I noticed today that there is a "rust bubble" of paint on the passenger
side above the rear wheel well. I looked in the wheel well and can see
some rust forming...on both sides. My '03 now has 70,000 miles and is
garage kept, but is in the "rust belt" of Pittsburgh. I would like ...
