2001 focus wagon tires11 Feb 2004 22:12 GMT8
Had the bad experience driving in cold weather (-25C) with slushy
road conditions. At 80 km rear of car was sliding around, thought
had loose wheel. Was told by two garages, low profile tires do that
in poor winter conditions, should change to steel rims and snow tires.
New '01 ZX3 OWNER10 Feb 2004 01:46 GMT8
I just bought a 01 ZX3 with an automatic.
I have a few questions for the group about this car.
1)  The car now has the single Ford CD play in it.   Can I but the Ford
6CD changer and just pop it in with out any harness changes??
Drive Belt Pulley Bearing?09 Feb 2004 19:32 GMT1
My 2000 Focus ZX3 makes a whining noise that speeds up and slows down
with the engine.  It's not high pitched like a belt though.  It comes
from the engine compartment on the passenger side of the car.
I had the guy at Ford listen to it and he thinks it's a bearing on one
Four Check Engine light questions - Focus ZTS07 Feb 2004 19:08 GMT8
 Just a few questions today:
1. If I normally drive at a 7000-foot elevation, can spending a few days at
2000' cause my Check Engine light to come on? If so, what'd be the cause?
2. If I normally drive in a non-polluted area selling ordinary gasoline, can
Questions for SVT owners and fans on audiophile package06 Feb 2004 07:11 GMT3
I'm going to assume most people prefer going aftermarket unless theft
is a big concern in your area.
That said, the Factory Look can be important.  Some GM cars from the
mid to late 90's looked horrible with aftermarket radios as opposed to
Bye Bye Focus06 Feb 2004 03:47 GMT11
Decided to trade my Focus in for a new Golf GT TDi.
central locking/brakes/fule pumps  Focus 2000 -06 Feb 2004 01:04 GMT2
I read various e-mails in this group and I have the same problems :
1. I have Ford Focus 2000 and only 47,000 KM ( less than 30,000 miles).
2. months ago I went for my 45,000 km check-up. I go on every 5,000 km
for check up. They told me that my brakes are completely gone. I spent
Central locking problem05 Feb 2004 02:29 GMT2
Got a 2000 Uk 1.8 TDDI Focus, and the back passenger side central locking
won't work. Can lock it manually, and all the other doors centrally lock. Is
likely to be a fuse? motor?, and what the cost-and can I do it myself?
Thanks
central locking fuse05 Feb 2004 02:26 GMT3
I have a 2000 US focus wagon with central locking.  the central locking has
stopped working.  the shop manual says to check fuse F63 (20 amp). I cannot
find it.  I have checked under the hood, under the steering column, and
behind the glovebox.  Any ideas as to where fuse F63 is.
Cam Belt When to Change05 Feb 2004 00:31 GMT11
I've got a Ford Focus(1999) 1.6 Zetec that's just past the 50k mile mark and
is about to be serviced. Can anyone advise whether now is a good time to get
the Cam belt changed, or should I wait another year or two?

Ford Focus? Advice Wanted04 Feb 2004 19:41 GMT7
Hey all, I am seeking some good advice on a Ford Focus because every time I
go to a ford garage they try and sell me finance not the car!
I currently drive a Ford Mondeo 1994 1.6LX which is falling to bits and the
new ones seem a bit to bulky!
Replacement tire recommendations04 Feb 2004 17:29 GMT1
Discovered the absolutely evil handling characteristics of the o.e. tires on
my 01' zx3. It was truly pathetic, couldn't do more than 45 and it was a
white knuckle experience. Don't feel like switching to snow tires in the
winter, has anyone found a real good all-season replacement ...
Ford Focus SE 2000 wont start04 Feb 2004 14:47 GMT7
I own a Ford Focus 2000...seems to not like to start in cold weather...I just got it back from being serviced and had to have the fuel module system replaced but still it takes 10 tries to get it started...I also had the battery, alternator, starter and belt looked at and that ...
Bent Aluminum Wheels03 Feb 2004 17:59 GMT1
Has anyone experienced or heard of problems with aluminum alloy wheels
denting - too easily - on Ford Focus?I have had 5 bent wheels since
October 2002. Only two have needed repair, but at $150 per repair they
are sitting beside the gargage. They are the  16" spoked rims.
Tyre wear02 Feb 2004 21:28 GMT18
Took my late 2001 Focus 1.6 Automatic for its second annual service today -
just over 14,000 miles on the clock after two years driving, mostly along
Cornish lanes and what passes for main roads, with one trip to the north of
Scotland and back.
