Query: Ford Focus Discs and Pads Replaced06 Apr 2004 21:54 GMT6
I've just had my discs and pads on my Focus replaced today after 50,000
miles. Anyway, driving the car home I've noticed that the new brakes are
lacking in byte. On closer examination of the brake pads, it appears that
the inner radius of the pads are closer to the disc than the ...
UK 1.8 Zetec electronics go haywire.....06 Apr 2004 20:17 GMT6
My 2000V UK 1.8 Zetec with 38k miles yesterday did the strangest thing.
Went to supermarket on way home from a 40 mile uneventful journey and was
parked for about 1 hour. Started normally ok and I drove off.
Stopping at the first roundabout to give way, I dipped the clutch as ...
Dealer mileage adjustment06 Apr 2004 16:02 GMT3
I bought an instrument cluster with a tachometer at a local junkyard for my
focus. (The original instrument cluster doesn't have a tachometer.) I
replaced it and everything works, except the odometer miles don't match up
(obviously). Can I get a Ford dealer to reprogram the odometer ...
Rust under seam putty on doors05 Apr 2004 23:16 GMT5
Is this a new one?
The seam putty along the inside of the door edge seams does not appear to
seal and stick to the door as expected.
Instead I suspect the putty is hygroscopic and draws moisture into the seams
Rust on Tailgate of 2.0i Ghia05 Apr 2004 19:14 GMT7
For the second time in a year my 1999 2.0i Ghia is going to the dealer to
have the tailgate resprayed. According to the dealer the chrome/plastic
coachwork rubs on the boot/tailgate and goes through the paint and lets the
moisture get in.
Ford covering the cost04 Apr 2004 22:24 GMT4
My Ford garage has just called me and told me that there will be no cost for
the respray - that should keep it looking good for another 10 months.
Focus error codes04 Apr 2004 11:01 GMT4
I bought a used 2000 Ford Focus some months ago.  On my previous car
(Subaru Legacy) it was easy to read out the stored error codes by just
putting a jumper wire on the connector.  I installed two toggle switches so
that I could read the codes without getting under the panel ...
Next generation Focus04 Apr 2004 10:01 GMT11
I've been searching on the web for information and pictures rergarding the
next generation Focus which I believe will be on sale in the UK later this
year, but without much luck. I think Ford probably still have it tightly
under wraps.
When is your car a lemon?03 Apr 2004 04:48 GMT6
Not by law but when do you start regretting buying a car.
At 40000 miles I have spent $1000 on 16 tires, $400 on rent a cars, $80
on tow trucks, $400 on rotors and brakes. My check engine light is on
now and the car is jerking. My alternator went out and a wire caught on
