2001 Focus 3 Door question30 May 2007 22:38 GMT2
Hey Focusers,
My wife and I own a 2001 3-door Ford Focus.  For the last three or
four years every time we drive a long distance the front of the car
starts creaking like crazy, especially when we turn left.  We've
Belt to Bypass AirCon?30 May 2007 20:21 GMT1
2001 DOHC ZX3
My compressor is locking up and money is tight right now. Is it
possible to install a non-ac belt in this car without too much
trouble? Any clearance issues?
Oil Change25 May 2007 18:23 GMT10
52 plate Focus 1.8 TDCI estate:  Probably a silly query:  To change the
engine oil, does the whole under-engine tray (cover) have to be removed to
get at sump plug?
Thanks. John.

but I am not sure.
When Should I change it anyways.

Cigar lighter21 May 2007 19:54 GMT2
Can anyone help me?
I have an 'S' registered Ford Focus.
As a non-smoker you would think a working cigar lighter was something
I don't need.
2001 Focus 1.6 Zetec engine, 60K miles: MAF sensor19 May 2007 19:17 GMT12
I've been hunting around trying to find this so I can clean it, and I
understood it is supposed to be located on the air intake hose. The only
thing I can see that could be it is down behind the alternator on the very
end of the manifold (two torx bolts + wiring harness), which ...
Intermittent Idle Problem13 May 2007 19:52 GMT4
My year 2000 UK Focus has developed an intermittent fault.
Normally it's when the engine is warm, and I've been travelling above
60mph.
When I take my foot off the accelerator, the car will keep going at
pointer exchanging Focus battery12 May 2007 17:56 GMT2
after getting curious how long the first battery on my 1999 Focus
would last and that it might just stop working when I at least
expect it, I just had it changed.
Things you need to do, in case your Focus has the gadgets:
Sloppy manual shifter, 2001 Ford Focus (5spd, SPI)11 May 2007 15:56 GMT16
The shifter on my Focus is sloppy, where it does not guide you during
shifting. It was challenging at first to shift from 2d to 3rd without a
noticeable gate to guide me, but with practice, it's fairly easy.

TDCi 54 plate starting problems11 May 2007 07:05 GMT14
Hi all-have done about 40k in this car and have no real problems-
however for some reason the car will start and then shake violently or
just simply will not start-then I leave it for a few seconds and it
starts?? Is this a serious problem waiting to occur? It never happens
2001 Focus VSS status09 May 2007 17:27 GMT4
Mechanic could not get it out. I'm of the opinion that it must be a
humdinger, because this is the first time ever that he's not been able
to do something that he started.

Speedo & rev counter etc go to max when engine 1st turned on04 May 2007 20:58 GMT2
When I turn the engine on, the needles on the 4 displays (speedo, rev
counter, fuel & water?) all go to their max for about 2 seconds, before
returning back down to zero (or should I say their correct position for
fuel, rev counter and water).
