My Focus 2.0 TDCi had a problem in last spring where sometimes when you
started the engine, it didn't quite reach idle and didn't respond to
throttle inputs. The main dealer replaced the EGR valve but a month or
so later, it did it again. The dealer said there was no fault codes ...

I have a 2001 Diesel Focus with a manual box. I bought the 'station
wagon' when it had been driven 32K km's. At that time the gear box
action was never 'smooth'; rapid shifts just didn't happen! Engaging
first was a struggle and sometimes changing up / down requires some

I think I'm a fairly sensitive driver, so when my Focus came back from
the dealer with a new clutch and front discs (and a very large bill) I
