Flaming Fords - website back up, new url, more defects11 Nov 2003 04:54 GMT6
To Ford Owners:
The original authors of Flaming Fords, the famous website about Ford
ignition switch fires (that can begin even when the car is parked with
the engine off, and burn your house down), discontinued it in 2002.  I
Need a pump11 Nov 2003 04:54 GMT8
I need a pump for replacing fluids such as rear differential fluid... does
anybody know of a cheaply priced one that isn't anything fancy, but will do
this specific job? I need to suction the fluid OUT really... I'd rather not
take off the cover if I can avoid it. Anyway.. anybody ...
OT: Lightnings at the lakefront11 Nov 2003 00:45 GMT2
Last Saturday we had a little get together at the lakefront(lake
ponchartrain) and I was really pleased with the turnout.  Just thought I
would share even though it isn't really on topic, what do you think of
these, a friend of mine is hosting these pics:
Whining noise coming from wheels & clutch issue10 Nov 2003 22:57 GMT11
Ok.. my 98 Mustang GT is acting up yet again. I know it isn't engine related
b/c the noise isn't steady w/ the RPM. Anyway.. it's making that hawking
noise again.. or a tooting noise.. kinda high-pitched, but very easily
heard. It does it at ANY speed now, but is (obviously) most ...
Routing 66 speedometer cable10 Nov 2003 22:44 GMT2
What's the correct path for the speedometer cable for 4sp?  Where do the 2
cable clamp downs attach?  Thanks.
1967 Gas Milage Question (for idiot newbie)10 Nov 2003 22:39 GMT2
I've just got rid of my '66 Lincoln (too big) and am beginning to look
to buy a Mustang, and (somewhat arbitrarily) decided that I'll start
looking at a '67. So far I've learned that they come in a variety of
engine sizes. What is the gas mileage like for these engines? I'm
69 Heater control question A/c or no A/c10 Nov 2003 08:09 GMT1
My car was bulit with A/C,but it has been fiddled about with so much in the
past i dont know what will work and what wont.
There dosen't appear to be any of the control cables behind the main heater
control, although the heater sliding controls are still intact(minus the
Torque/Tranny problem in 89 Mustang10 Nov 2003 03:30 GMT4
Had a fairly major problem develop suddenly yesterday in my 89 auto /
4 cyl.
After coming off the Interstate (where car was operating fine), I
pulled up to the first stop light.  When the light turned green I hit
Some New Whoa Power!10 Nov 2003 03:07 GMT13
Gotta love new technology!  Pretty freaking cool, huh?!
It's all over for brake pads and discs. Scientists have invented an
amazing 'contactless' braking system that uses invisible magnetic
forces to bring your car to a halt. What's more, it's set to
Didn't know Mustangs had cradles--bad news. :-(09 Nov 2003 22:32 GMT9
Took my wrecked '96 GT into a local tire/alignment shop a few days ago. They
told me the cradle is pushed back. I looked under the car and bolts have
shifted in the cradle. You can put five fingers in between the front of the
tire and fender and only two or three fingers between the ...
Dealership Story.... Ughhh09 Nov 2003 22:20 GMT7
I took my V6 2000 white mustang for one more drive before putting her
up.  I passed a local Ford dealership and on display out front was
another white 2000 mustang, but a GT.  So for sh.ts & giggles, I stop
and take a look.  The salesmen came out of the woodwork and I asked if
Check engine light on 96 V609 Nov 2003 22:17 GMT4
My CEL seems to have a mind of it's own these days...
It'a a 96 V6 Vert with maybe 90,000 miles.  Mods have been the usual:
de-posted the MAF, CAI, pulleys, 2" dual exhaust.
When I fill up with gas it goes on after about 10 minutes of running time.
66 parking brake spring connection location?09 Nov 2003 20:44 GMT4
What part of the chassis does the parking brake spring attach to?  Thanks.
Kenne Bell Supercharger Installed09 Nov 2003 17:40 GMT18
Just finished it today. It took 2 days and a half.
I am going to make a site at http://www.trullointeriors.com/~johnshep/
to give some tips on the install.  There is one pic there of the engine
this a.m. and a few of the preparation pictures.
Exhaust system09 Nov 2003 16:44 GMT4
A few months back I heard a Mustang that had some sort of exhaust
system that sounded incredible.  When he accelerated he sounded like a
NASCAR car going off.  Any suggestions where I can get an idea of what
is available out there?  Any comparisons on the net?
