I just recently bought a used 8.8 rear-end with 3.73 gears. My mechanic took it apart and told me that there was slight damage to the pinion. It was along the lines that one or 2 of the teeth were damaged slightly. Should I be concerned about this?........the guy who sold it to me ...

j/k ! But it did just got to a Short Belt w/Underdrive pulleys on my 89 5.Vert! After I installed the March Underdrive Crank/Water pump pulleys, my belt ended up being a bit to long (the Tensioner at Full range).
