| Where should a rookie start? | 02 Apr 2004 21:54 GMT | 4 |
I had a '88 5.0 convertible for the last six years and loved the car. I did some minor mods with the help of a friend who owns a shop locally and mechanically it was sound. Fortunately for me, but unfortunate for my vehicles, I live on the beach and the body was finally so bad that ...

| Ping.......... | 02 Apr 2004 16:55 GMT | 5 |
I heard some pinging the past couple days... I checked oil level and not a single bit is being burned (thank goodness).. so then I suspected gas... been fueling at Citgo lately... turns out gas was the problem. 87 octane at Citgo is apparently bad, cheap gas... I went over to ...

| 3.8 to 351w Conversion Brackets? | 02 Apr 2004 15:06 GMT | 3 |
I have a 1985 3.8 Marquis (little 4-door brougham, not grand, sometimes referred to as the "4-door mustang") that I am considering putting a 351w in. I have recently put a new alternator on, and the air conditioner still works very well, so I would like to keep these accessories. ...

| Darn thing won't start | 02 Apr 2004 10:48 GMT | 3 |
I just did a AODE to 5 speed swap, but the darn thing won't start. It rolls over fine but thereis no fire in the hole. The fuel pump is not coming on with the key. I had a problem like this once before and it turned out to be a fuse. However I check the fuse box and they all look ...

I've owned a couple 85s and 86s....found a good deal on a 83 GT w/ T-tops (T-tops are fun and cool as hell) I can probably pick it up for around $1,000....... I'm thinking about another 10 years or so the 5.0 T-top cars will probably be becoming collectables and the value will be ...

| Time to overhaul???? | 02 Apr 2004 04:43 GMT | 3 |
I have a 90' lx coupe 5.0 with 275K original miles. The car has the original trans, engine, and diff. I'm the second owner and bought the car from a life long friend so I know the history on the car. A recent compression check found the highest comp. on #1 at 148psi and

| Question for Canadians who've been to Cayuga speedway | 02 Apr 2004 04:04 GMT | 1 |
If you want to do some 1/4 mile timings on your stock Mustang, what equipment do you need to have? From their website, it looks like you need (maybe) a helmet (Snell 90) and a kill switch of some kind. The helmet would be no problem, but the kill switch....

| Strange occurrence with K&N and CEL | 02 Apr 2004 03:57 GMT | 57 |
Since I'm selling my '96 GT I figured why let the K&N go with it. So I put a paper filter in and the check engine light goes OFF. It's been on and off for a long time now, but can't say exactly how long. Anyway, I drove for a while, expecting it to come back on like always, and it ...

| Emblems | 02 Apr 2004 03:24 GMT | 2 |
Hi all. I have a '96 gt. I'm looking for two things. First, my front emblem (the horse) and the side emblems (the GT 4.6L) are often stolen. I can't afford new ones from Ford (eh, they charge 52 CAN$ for the side emblem, more for the horse). So if someone knows a

| Possible substitutes for conventional turbo / superchargers | 02 Apr 2004 03:02 GMT | 3 |
I know there have been electrically powered pseudo-superchargers for cars before that did not work, but then they were essentially cheaply constructed devices, not made to work at truly high pressure. There is a device called a turbo-molecular air pump. These devices

| Ford shifting; Too sloppy to gate? | 02 Apr 2004 01:38 GMT | 5 |
I've been thinking about people's complaints regarding the shift from 2-3 and the mishifts that people must be experiencing. I'm wondering if a gated shift plate would work with the Mustang or if it's shift throws are too short or imprecise for this? I know Ferrari uses/used this ...
