I'm thinking about installing a performance chip into my '04 V6 for a few extra horses.  These chips however, are kind of pricey, some costing $400-500.  Many people have similar chips listed on Ebay from at low as a few dollars.  Are these cheaper chips safe to install?  I know ...

My '05 GT has two 'dimples' in the front, plastic bumper for the
purpose of mounting a license plate. I assume that means drilling the
plastic bumper and bolting a plate on. I can envision sheer ugliness.

I have a 00 GT with about 75,000 miles.  At about 68,000 miles it developed
a ticking on the right side (from the driver's perspective.  When I first
start it cold it doesn't tick.  After about 1-2 minutes it starts ticking
quietly.  It does not tick when idling, only at cruising ...
