Need help diagnosing clutch (?) problems.05 May 2005 02:28 GMT4
My '65 mustang has a 4 speed manual tranny.  The engine is a 289.
Neither are original to the car, in fact, I believe my father said he
took the tranny out of an old Granada (don't hold me to it).
Anyway, recently it's become difficult to change gears.  The clutch

Installing steeda clutch quadrant04 May 2005 18:58 GMT7
I've never installed a clutch quadrant before. I have an aftermarket
aluminum clutch quadrant in now. Can anybody point me to documentation
(pref. with pictures) as to removing & installing a new clutch quadrant?
I've already removed the clutch cable (also Steeda).
Fastback OEM Ford Parts04 May 2005 18:49 GMT7
I recently purchased a 1968 fastback and I was wondering if anyone knew
a place that sold OEM parts instead of going through ford. I know some
places out there have stocked them but I just do not know where. Parts
as in exterior body parts, fenders, doors, trunklids, quarters, etc.

Had 3.73's installed and need to change the speedo gear and the transmission
drive gear.
Does the trans have to be removed to change the drive gear.

T-5 in my 6604 May 2005 15:52 GMT6
I just got my '66 coupe back with a brand new T-5 tranny and I don't
have words to express how much better it is.  It had a 3 speed manual
that I hated from the first day I drove it.  It is like a totally
different car now.  If you are even slightly pondering a switch, DO
99 Taurus SHO04 May 2005 13:07 GMT4
I have a 99 Taurus SHO with 58,000 miles and recently have noticed a
ticking noise at idle.  I know this is overhead cam but are they similar to
other cars with hydraulic lifters?  Could it be a bent pushrod or
something?  Hurc, any idea what this is?  I'm stumped...
PING: Tim (Musttanguy)04 May 2005 06:12 GMT4
Ok, quadrant was a piece of cake to get installed. The cable... well.. diff
story. When I removed the old clutch cable the first time, it was bolted
onto a part... I don't know what that part one. Like, there was a metal
bracket attached to the middle of the cable (not exactly the ...

I have new door cams, however can't get get either the pin that holds the

Is there a secret to this, or is it simply brute force?
Michel.

Squeak at 40 KM/hr +03 May 2005 23:26 GMT2
04 Mustang GT - I get a squeaking noise coming from the front wheels at 40KM
and up.  As soon as I get to below 35-40KM/hr noise goes away.  I've shut
the engine off at 50 and noise is still there so pretty sure that its not
the belts.
Twin Screw rocks!03 May 2005 21:20 GMT9
Yeah, so, the blower came in last Thursday and I installed it over the
weekend :). Kenne Bell Blowzilla 2200, Kenne Bell Boost-a-Pump, and a
Diablo Motorsport MAFia all went on.
The installation went fine with no serious hiccups and just a few
1988 GT T-top production numbers03 May 2005 20:25 GMT2
I've been lurking here for a while, seem like some of you regulars know
resources about Mustangs pretty well. As my subject says, I am looking for
the production numbers for the 1988 t-top mustang. I did the usual google
searches and cant really find what im looking for, any info on ...
backfiring03 May 2005 20:22 GMT3
I have this problem that's been the plague of my '65 Stang for the last
several months. Ever since a damn-near complete overhaul of the top-end
(after a bout with piston slap) I've had this crazy repetitive clacking
sound coming from the passenger-side lifters.. and particularly ...
