I have a 66 mustang with a 3speed c4 automatic transmission and recently my transmission went out. It was driving fine on the interstate and then i hit a 2 hour traffic jam and about 15 minutes after that (after another small jam) it would no longer go into first

ok, I'll just put this out there right up front, working on cars is new to me. Ok, I have a '68 mustang (inline 6) that I am working on and I'm thinking about replacing the points with an ingnitor electric ignition.

I am not much of a mechanic, but I do know the air pump is not turning and must be locked on my 83 Mustang 3.7 V6. Should I just try to find a belt and bypass the air pump, and if so what size belt should I purchase?

The factory rating for my '71 Grande is from 285 to 300 HP depending on where you look. My question is, does the 285 HP rating mean the same today as it did in 1971. Like the octane rating '71 vs. '06 the numbers have changed.
