How to tell if 1965 8-inch diff is posi26 Apr 2007 02:37 GMT7
My '65 A-code 4-speed fastback has an 8-inch diff. If I decode the VIN
and warranty plate, it comes back as an 8-inch open diff with 3.00:1
gearing. With a 42 year-old car, however, it`s anyone's guess as to
what's really in there now. Presently, the engine and tranny are out

Just installed a new Edelbrock Performer 289 intake and Edelbrock 500
cfm carb with electronic choke and can't get it started for the life
of me!  When I put the distributor back in it was right at the mark of
where I removed it, couldn't get it started.  So I pulled it again and

Ever Google yourself?24 Apr 2007 03:37 GMT13
No, not Google Groups (or what used to be DejaVu), but Google web search.
I find it truly amazing how many websites mirror this newsgroup as
"content," or disguised as their own internal discussion group. All over the
globe, too.

71-73 351C Question23 Apr 2007 02:40 GMT3
I'm putting the final touches on a 351C this weekend and plan to drop it in
the ol' mach some evening this week.
It originally had the "X" style 4 blade fan (on the water pump).
I found a 5 blade flex-fan and plan to put that on instead.
Lost keys for '70 Convertible... let me rephrase.22 Apr 2007 21:52 GMT7
Thanks to those who replied but I don't think I related the problem
effectively. The problem is how do I get the ignition cylinder out of
the steering column if I don't have the key?
Thanks again,

Howdy Mustang fans,
My name is jamie and I live in Texas. I would like to thank you for

All things considered, I'm totally satisfied and happy with my 2004 GT
Convertible, except:
The stock factory "headrests" are simply ineffective as whiplash protection.
With the provided metal slat post/bracket in the uppermost position, the

P0171 and P017420 Apr 2007 01:25 GMT3
I have a 2002 Ford Ranger - 4.0 L with 67,000 miles.  Keep getting the
codes P0170 and P0174 fuel banks too lean.  However, engine does not
run rough at all, and no hard starts.  Thought that it may be clogged
fuel injectors, but that was not the problem.  Now thinking that it
I dont know why my mustang smokes19 Apr 2007 18:05 GMT7
Recently my 84 5.0 mustang has been pouring white smoke out of the
tail pipes.  It starts and runs fine but it started smoking recently.
I noticed the smoke after driving it a couple days after I filled it
with premium gas.  Also I think my car burns oil. I use 5W30 motor oil

Yeah, I know... BONEHEAD!!! But anyway, I lost the keys to my '70
convertible. I have ordered a new lock set including ignition and
doors (keyed alike) and trunk. The doors to the car were unlocked and
I can get through the trunk by removing the back seat. The problem is
Temperature Meter18 Apr 2007 01:13 GMT3
I've got a generic automotive temperature meter made by ANC, and I'm
wondering how to hook it up.
I suppose this general non-Mustang related question might be better for
another group, but I follow this group occasionally and know there are
