New Boss engines question12 Apr 2007 03:43 GMT2
Aside of the new Boss block and it's $1795 cost does anyone have information
about the shortblocks, longblocks, or other variations of the Boss engine
that are supposed to come out? I am just wondering when they are coming out,
what parts they are going to use, what we can expect ...

I am rebuilding a 289 from my 65 fastback and I have a part I can not
remember what it is.
It seems to fit the crankshaft.
It is a thin metal round plate recessed and has a  notch to fit the
GTech Pro RR11 Apr 2007 22:59 GMT1
How well does the GTech Pro RR ($299) work? Is it the best in its class or
is there something comparable or better? I noticed Beltronics has a nice one
called the Vector FX1 ($99) and FX2 ($179). It seems to do the same things
and costs about $100 less. Can someone name some ...
289 rebuild - pushrods sizes11 Apr 2007 15:10 GMT2
I am building a 289 from a virgin block that has been bored .030
over and piston matched from machine shop ect.
When I started I had two complete motors to choose my rebuild from old
mustangs, 289 and 302 complete motors. The 302 had already been
98 GT evap system leak11 Apr 2007 05:37 GMT14
The fuel pump in my 98 GT died awhile back and I paid about $700 to
have it replaced. The high price reflects the fact that the pump is in
the tank and the whole tank needs to come off to make the change.
(Someone will have to explain to me why this is good engineering.)
99 v6 mustang with 140K miles10 Apr 2007 16:24 GMT3
They want $4000 for it.  However im concerned how well it will hold up
with this much mileage, even though they say its in excellent
condition.  Anyone have any experienced with their 99 model mustangs
in the 150-200K mile range?
slow progress, 66 sedan09 Apr 2007 19:21 GMT3
Thought I'd share, not that anyone cares :)
So my wife buys this 66 mustang a few years back, that didn't run.
Parked outside in the elements, windows open even. After an engine fire.
Paint ruined, interior ruined, engine room looking pretty rough. Rust

dirt in the plug holes08 Apr 2007 01:50 GMT13
I just replaced the plugs on two different 4.6L in a 99 and 01
GT.  In both cases there was a lot of grit type dirt down in the plug
holes that had gotten past the spark plug boot seal.  I shudder to
think of all the grit that's going into these engines when the corner

What's the best way to clean engine parts?07 Apr 2007 20:02 GMT13
I'm not sure how to ask this question without seeming ignorant, but
since I am ignorant, I guess that's ok.
I have a '65 coupe that I'm starting to rebuild.  It has been in
pieces for a long time.  I've contacted a professional who will help
