| Slightly OT: How long have you been a Ford or Mustang person? | 19 Feb 2009 01:08 GMT | 21 |
I'll reveal my secrets and divulge my past as a Chevrolet fan. My first car was a 1950 Chev that I purchased in 1956. I customized, lowered, modified the engine and had lots of fun with it until I purchased a new 1963 Chev Impala 409. Got married and traded the 409

| Worst case with bad TO bearing | 17 Feb 2009 05:49 GMT | 2 |
Looks like my clutch has a bad throw-out bearing. It's very noisy but the car drives ok for now. Do I have much time before something major happens? (I don't have the cash now to fix the clutch). Is it safe to drive at all?

| Projector Headlights | 15 Feb 2009 22:46 GMT | 37 |
The Current headlights just isn't cutting it anymore so I'm going to replace them. I currently have smoked aftermarket jobs and they are clouding up< oxidizing> pretty bad despite using plastic polish frequently. So I figure to go a different way. I need something really bright ...

My GT has 110K on it with original tranny. Recently, when I press the clutch pedal all the way down, a screetchy high pitch sound is heard and goes away when the gears are engaged again. Aside from the noise, the car drives as well as before. Anything I

| The joy of car repair? | 05 Feb 2009 03:11 GMT | 8 |
I certainly don't disparage anyone who does their own car repair, but there are times when it just isn't feasible. My son called me this morning and said he was going to replace an alternator. He had the alternator, but asked If I could give him

| HP ratings | 01 Feb 2009 18:35 GMT | 25 |
I'm always amazed at horsepower ratings of new cars; V6s with 200-300 HP, imports with 300-400 HP, and Mustangs with 500+ HP. How much torque in these cars? I had a 63 Chev 409 that could burn rubber from a standing start in 1st, 2nd,
