Slightly OT: How long have you been a Ford or Mustang person?19 Feb 2009 01:08 GMT21
I'll reveal my secrets and divulge my past as a Chevrolet fan.
My first car was a 1950 Chev that I purchased in 1956. I customized,
lowered, modified the engine and had lots of fun with it until I
purchased a new 1963 Chev Impala 409. Got married and traded the 409
Worst case with bad TO bearing17 Feb 2009 05:49 GMT2
Looks like my clutch has a bad throw-out bearing. It's very noisy but
the car drives ok for now. Do I have much time before something major
happens? (I don't have the cash now to fix the clutch). Is it safe to
drive at all?
Projector Headlights15 Feb 2009 22:46 GMT37
The Current headlights just isn't cutting it anymore so I'm going to replace
them. I currently have smoked aftermarket jobs and they are clouding up<
oxidizing> pretty bad despite using plastic polish frequently. So I figure
to go a different way. I need something really bright ...
Noisy clutch on 2K GT13 Feb 2009 02:17 GMT5
My GT has 110K on it with original tranny. Recently, when I press the
clutch pedal all the way down, a screetchy high pitch sound is heard
and goes away when the gears are engaged again.
Aside from the noise, the car drives as well as before. Anything I

1988 Mustang - Horn won't stop beeping :)05 Feb 2009 19:06 GMT3
Just wondering if I could get some ideas.
I have a convertible 88 Mustang GT. The horn will not stop when the
key is turned to the on position or car is started.
I had to pull the center of the steering wheel off and unplug the wire

The joy of car repair?05 Feb 2009 03:11 GMT8
I certainly don't disparage anyone who does their own car repair,
but there are times when it just isn't feasible.
My son called me this morning and said he was going to replace an
alternator. He had the alternator, but asked If I could give him

HP ratings01 Feb 2009 18:35 GMT25
I'm always amazed at horsepower ratings of new cars;
V6s with 200-300 HP, imports with 300-400 HP, and Mustangs
with 500+ HP. How much torque in these cars? I had a 63 Chev
409 that could burn rubber from a standing start in 1st, 2nd,
70 mustang question?01 Feb 2009 00:31 GMT1
I'm currently restoring a 70 Mach 1 mustang. I"m thinking about
dropping the rear body 1" by raising the axle 1". I've got 320 coils
in the front and lowered the upper a arms 1" I'm running 255-60 in the
rear. It appears I should have enough clearance, I'm worried about
