The engine has a what can only be described as a "dual snout"
air cleaner, with air intake tubes connected to some place in
the inner fender liners. It also has tubes connected to the exhaust
manifolds to warm the intake air, and sensors on each "snout".

My neighbor has a '78 Mustang with the 2300 4 banger in it that he's
puting back together and he's having trouble routing the vacuum lines.
engine runs, but rough and not right...

I've just received my new comp cams camshaft for my 1965 289ci's Ford
Mustang.
The bad news is that the french customs had opened the box and did a little
scratch on the last cam journal, where the last cam bearing will be over.

This may be crazy, but here goes. I spun a bearing on this truck. As
far as I can tell with he engine still in the truck the rod on that
throw seems ok.
