Racks and camper shells23 Oct 2003 00:25 GMT4
I'm thinking of build my own cargo rack and maybe even a shell for my '99
F150 Supercab short bed.
I'm tentatively planning to use Unistrut like one would find holding
electrical conduit and such.
Cooling problems(94 F150 Lightning)22 Oct 2003 15:47 GMT13
OK, I have been having some problems keeping the 351W cool.  I have
already changed the waterpump(about 9,000 miles ago), the
thermostat(180), and put a brand new radiator in.  It usually gets hot
when I am on the interstate at cruising speeds, or about 65-75.  It gets
97 F150 Loud Squeaking When Steering Wheel is Turned22 Oct 2003 11:29 GMT8
My '97 F150 makes a loud sqeuaking noise when the steering wheel is
turned.  Without looking at it, a mechanic friend said it may in the rack &
pinion.  My dad thinks its in the steering column.  Its not the same sound
when you need power steering fluid.  This sound is just a loud ...
Ranger tailgate problems22 Oct 2003 05:51 GMT1
I am having trouble getting into a 2000 Ranger tailgate to replace the
handle and re-attach the cable.  Any hints out there?
Aftermarket Hitch or stay with Class III Bumper Hitch?22 Oct 2003 04:19 GMT9
I have a 96 F150 4x4.  The owners manual classifies the bumper hitch as
Class III.  I, like everyone else has seen twisted bumpers on trucks because
they were pushed (pulled) beyond their capacity.
I will be hauling a 7500GVW dual axle trailer; not clear across the country
Ranger Step swap from 1998 to 199422 Oct 2003 01:06 GMT1
I got a chance to pick up a deal on a pair of factory steps for a 1998
Ranger SuperCab and was wondering if anyone could tell me if they would fit
my 1994 Ranger SuperCab 4X4 XLT?
They are Ford originals part # F77Z-16450-EAD
OVERDRIVE LIGHT FLASHING        H E L P21 Oct 2003 23:38 GMT1
I have a 99 Explorer with just at 100K. I bought it new and had the
trans. serviced at about 42K. Yesterday on a trip home the overdrive
light on the dash started flashing. I stopped the Explorer and shut
the motor off.  Restarted and drove another 300 miles with the light
Powerstroke with Manual Tranny - RPMs?21 Oct 2003 19:16 GMT8
Just a quick survey for anybody with a Powerstroke and the ZF 6-speed manual
tranny.  What RPM's are you typically seeing at about 70-ish MPH, and what
rear/tire size do you have.
Thanks in advance,
F150 Door Rubber Weatherstrip21 Oct 2003 13:04 GMT12
I was looking in my 2003 F150 Maintenance Guide today and noticed that
it said to lubricate the door rubber weatherstrip every six months.
However, it doesn't say what to lubricate with.  Anyone know what Ford
recommends?
Low tone whistle 2000 150 4.2 21 Oct 2003 00:47 GMT6
Anyone ever get a low and loud whistle coming from the engine bay. Only
happens after a restart and under light load around 2500 rpm (any speed).
The alternator seems to be OK, although there is a light clicking in the
rear bearing area, it doesn't seem to be doing the constant whir ...
Air bag Codes? '94 F15020 Oct 2003 20:25 GMT2
Is there an online list of chassis trouble codes for Fords?
My airbag icon has been blinking a code (24?) ever since I bought it last year.
Sure would like to know where to start looking.

Heater Core Access20 Oct 2003 17:24 GMT6
I have a 92 F-150 and I am wondering if one can gain access to the
heater core via the dash instead of externally. When I purchased the
vehicle it had a pretty consistant coating of dirt throughout the
interior. I am wanting to see if the heater core is also covered in
Changing Glow Plugs On a 96 PowerStroke20 Oct 2003 05:20 GMT5
What is involved with changing out the glow lugs on a 96 PowerStroke.
My dad's truck doesn't dire up when it less than 70 degrees outside
and the Dealer said he had 6 glow plugs out.  They wanted 700+ to
change them out and I was wondering if it is similar to changing out
Noisy power steering?19 Oct 2003 23:06 GMT7
Can anyone tell me why my power steering pump on 1998 F-150 is noisy?
Some days seem qorse than others. Is it worn out, is there any fix for this?
   Thanks in advance.
Is a Slave cylinder "bad" or "broken" ONLY if it is leaking???19 Oct 2003 19:49 GMT3
If my master and or slave are not leaking air or fluid does the
problem lie else where??? Bleeding? Method of bleeding? Brand new
clutch components intstalled in a 4.9L f-150 with the external slave
and master above. Have not put tranny in yet.... Hydralic componets I
