Can anybody tell me what the rear Axle ration is on my truck?  I'm trying to
figure out what my tow rating is so if you happen to know that as well....

97: Spare tire question19 May 2004 05:27 GMT5
I have a 97 F-150 with 120,000 miles on it.  I just got new tires for it
(it's third set), but I've still got the original spare, which probably has
less then 1000 miles on it.  The problem is that the spare has some
indentations on the side wall from resting up against the frame ...
Where's the oil pressure sending unit?19 May 2004 04:23 GMT1
Can anyone tell me where the oil pressure sending unit is on the 4.6L?  My
Chilton's manual just says to locate and remove it.  Locating it is the
problem.  There are no directions, diagrams or pictures.  I've looked around
on the net but I can't find any there either.
'86 F150 Starter Solenoid welding19 May 2004 01:45 GMT7
My '86 F-150 is welding shut starter solenoids, and nothing seems to cure
the problem.  I have replaced both battery cables, the starter, tried three
different makes of solenoids, cleaned out the steering column and lubed the
key tumbler linkage, removed and tested the ignition ...
Alternator Belt Question 460 Ford18 May 2004 17:28 GMT2
I have a couple questions. First let me explain I do not have a vast
knowledge of motors but have trouble finding someone to work on my motorhome
so I?m forced to learn and try to do things myself.
I have a motorhome that has a 1988 Ford big block 460, 7.5L carbureted
GCWR specs for 2000 Ford F-55018 May 2004 17:25 GMT2
Has anyone seen official specifications of the 2000 F-550 that
contains GCWR? I have seen such a document for the 2001 model, showing
a GCWR of 26,000 lb. The specifications page for the 2000 model at
this address does not mention GCWR:
Hot air from vents on Ranger?18 May 2004 16:36 GMT4
I have a 92 Ranger that I don't drive very often but when I drove it the
other day I noticed that hot air blew from the vents. It was hot outside,
about 90 degrees, but the air blowing from the vents was as hot or hotter
than the outside air. Is this happening because the air is ...
Super/turbo charger kit for 5.0 V8?18 May 2004 15:40 GMT11
I have decided to keep my '94 F15 4x4. But I do use it to tow a 6000# trailer,
and it's a little anemic for that. I'd be fine with 30-50 more HP, but I don't
need to lose fuel mileage.  Sounds like a good recipe for a turbo kit.  Ayone
done this that can share experience?  Good ...
99 Ranger "Check Engine" light on suddenly18 May 2004 13:55 GMT1
I haven't seen this as a bug yet, and the circumstances are somewhat
grey, so I thought it best to ask about this.
I took the Ranger in for service, and it was the 60 000 km more
expensive scheduled maintenance.  About 3 days after the service, I'm
MAY 19TH HAS BEEN FORMALLY DECLARED  "STICK IT TO THEM  DAY"18 May 2004 05:00 GMT5
IT HAS BEEN CALCULATED THAT IF EVERYONE IN THE UNITED STATES DID NOT
PURCHASE A DROP OF GASOLINE FOR ONE DAY AND ALL AT THE SAME TIME, THE
OIL COMPANIES WOULD CHOKE ON THEIR STOCKPILES.
AT THE SAME TIME IT WOULD HIT THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY WITH A NET LOSS OF

97 Expedition Air Suspension Compressor17 May 2004 19:10 GMT1
Does anyone know how to remove the air lines that come off of the
dryer on the air suspension compressor?  Is there some type of special
tool required or is there another way to get them out?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
timing marks on 1994 F-150 4.9L?17 May 2004 19:06 GMT2
I've owned my 1994 F-150 since new, and live in California with our biannual
smog inspection.
Two years ago I took my truck (4.9L 6-cylinder 300hp) to a small one-man
shop to be smogged. Everything passed, except he couldn't verify the timing
