I recently aquired a F-150 4X4 truck, 300ci 6cyl, 4spd. The front shocks (
quad shock system ) on the pass side were literaly pulled apart. So I
replaced them with a set from the local Napa store. Looking at the shocks
installed, they are fully extended, with the truck sitting still ...

How do you safely remove a good windshield from a '89 Ranger ?07 May 2004 05:06 GMT3
Serendipity;
I bought an '89 Ranger off a hulkhauler for the bed for $50 ( I've
got a trailer made from a '84   ranger and the bed was rusting out;
cheap quick fix. )

Poor Warrenty Service on Ranger 200006 May 2004 21:00 GMT6
I have put this complaint on many times. I want everyone who has bought a
Ford product to know the poor support you will get when you have a service
problem. Ford sales are lagging behind the Japanese cars for this reason and
I will continue this message again and again.
Keys06 May 2004 20:59 GMT6
I just bought a 2001 F-150 with the passive anti theft key.  I only received
one key with it. Where can I get additional keys made and programmed?
Dealer wants $20.00 for the key and $37.50 to program it.  Another $37.00
for additional keyless entry transmitter.
Spak plug mystery06 May 2004 13:43 GMT13
I went ahead and replaced the 6 year old plugs ( champion truck plugs ) on
my 1993 F150 ( 4.9 eng , e4od trans ) with Bosch platinums. The truck was
running great before the change but with the change I was getting an
occasional stumble and misfire at idle ( close to stalling ) . ...

Can someone explain the different automatics used in new Ford trucks? Is any
of them related to the old AOD?

Flashing Overdrive light and harsh shift in 1995 F-250 Diesel Automatic 4x4 - what could cause?06 May 2004 01:00 GMT7
I have the described truck (80K miles), and about 6 weeks ago, for no
apparent reason, I suddenly began to notice a harsh shift (both up and
down) from low to second.  Then noticed the Overdrive on/off light on
the shift lever was flashing.  Took it to the Ford dealer - they
Extended warranty05 May 2004 18:48 GMT7
Some dealers and some private concerns are offering extended
warranties beyond the normal warranty period.  I am looking at the
f250 diesel, maybe 4x4 and wonder if it is practical to consider these
warranties?
Just test drove a F250 King Ranch diesel05 May 2004 17:43 GMT1
Absolutely wonderful. Looking forward to pushing the 1992 Dodge Ram 350 CTD
on my gardener...
Discussions have raged about the 6.0l Powerstroke diesel, esp the 2003s,
trouble with injectors, computer software, flash upgrades that messes up
when to use overdrive05 May 2004 15:51 GMT3
At the risk of sounding stupid, when should I engage the overdrive in my
2004 F-150? Someone today told me to engage it during highway speeds to
maximize fuel economy. Then I'm supposed to disengage it during slower
city/suburban driving. Does this sound right? Thanks.
89 Bronco A/C air vent05 May 2004 14:36 GMT1
I have an 89 big Bronco, 5.8L, 4X4. My A/C works fine when it is at "normal"
position. When I move it to "MAX", the air vent changes from the regular vent
holes to the defrost after few seconds. How can I fix this?

1988 F150 ingition problem05 May 2004 09:51 GMT2
When I insert the key and turn it, something isn't engaging.  The
electrical system works, but the engine doesn't turn.  It feels like
something has broken in the key assembly.  How can I remove the key
assembly from the steering column?
