| 250 4x4 hub/bearing question | 15 Aug 2004 12:31 GMT | 2 |
I've got a 2000 F250 4x4 SD. The truck has 88K miles on it, and there is a popping sound/feel coming from the front end when I turn hard on the front wheels, so I'm going to replace the hubs and the bearing assemblies. But I can't get the left 4x4 hub assembly to slide out. I've ...

| repair manual | 15 Aug 2004 07:18 GMT | 7 |
Anyone know where to find a repair manual for my 97 Ranger, one that's better than Haynes or Chilton? The only other thing I found was a monster 3000 page, $110 thing from Helm. That's more than what I need. TIA

| 1986 F250 4x4 front wheel bearings (getting to them!) | 15 Aug 2004 03:16 GMT | 13 |
I've got a '86 F250 SuperCab 4x4 that I believe to have a Dana 50 IFS on the front, however I don't have any solid evidence on that, so it may be a Dana 44-HD IFS. Is there any way to tell by looking (other than the factory tag, which is so rusted it can't be deciphered)?

| Dana 60 Bearing Self-Destruct | 14 Aug 2004 15:51 GMT | 4 |
The RR wheel bearing self-destructed on my '79 F-350 over the weekend. The Ford dealer says it destroyed the housing, and he can't get the axle out, and it will require an entire hub-to-hub replacement. Is this common?

| speed limiter | 14 Aug 2004 05:47 GMT | 11 |
I have a 99 F-250 SD with the 5.4l and was running down the highway with my buddy in his F-250 SD with the 6.0l. he had the jump on me so I slammed it to the floor and was catching quickly only to find my truck seemed to shut down at 85mph.

| Replacing Wiper switch | 14 Aug 2004 03:59 GMT | 1 |
I have a 98 f150 w/ an airbag that needs a new windshield wiper switch (sometimes it works sometimes not but the washer part once activated never stops). I've done many without the airbag but never with the airbag. Do you recommend a weekend type mechanic doing this?

I need advice on weather it's worth installing an engine brake (ala jake brake) on a 2002 F-350 with a 7.3PSD. The truck will be used for lots of towing all over the USA and Canada.

The passenger side door does not open via either the remote unit or the driver side switch. It is trying to do so but only comes up part way and then drops down. Will I have to take it to the dealer?

Anyone know where to find a "door" for the middle section of an '02 F350's overhead console that doesn't cost nearly $100??. Went to retrieve my sunglasses this morning and the fuggin' latch snapped off. Local dealer stocks 'em (which raises my eyebrows more than a bit) but
