91 Ranger Catalytic Converter30 Sep 2004 13:55 GMT2
My Ranger's catalytic converter is making an awful racket; sounds like
something is vibrating inside. I'm in a rural area with no pollution checks;
can I just cut this thing off and replace with a piece of exhaust pipe?

99 Windstar problem30 Sep 2004 08:32 GMT1
My friend's 99 Windstar (3.8L V6) has an interesting problem. The other day
the AC compressor cut the hose from the radiator to the reservoir. We
replaced it and did our best to get as much clearance as possible. We
checked it tonight and the compressor's pulley is just starting ...

I realize that there were major changes all around for 2004, but am
wondering what minor changes or upogrades will be on the 2005 models.  Does
anyone have any info on the 2005 F-150 or know of a website that has this
info?
cleaning battery terminals...?30 Sep 2004 01:01 GMT6
I have a 2001 F250 SD gas.   Its the first vehicle I've owned that has
the little wimpy sheet-metal looking terminals to clamp onto the
battery posts.  Its also the first vehicle I've owned that is so
sensitive to the 12 volt battery being disconnected for a few minutes.
302 block and heads29 Sep 2004 18:43 GMT3
What could I expect to pay for the machine work to align hone a 302 block
and make it .060 over.  What else should be done while it's in the machine
shop?  Class rules prevent much metal removal beyond deburring and squaring.
Same for heads, what does it cost for a 3-angle valve ...
E-350 Speed Limiter28 Sep 2004 19:24 GMT3
I am attempting to limit the speed on an '05 E-150 cutaway 6.0L diesel to
20-30 mph, while maintaining all low end torque.  Does anyone have any
ideas how this can be done with equipment that already exists?  I know
that no one makes a "tuner" or programmer for the vans yet, but I ...
Temperature guage problem F250 Diesel28 Sep 2004 11:46 GMT3
The temperature guage on my 1990 F250 diesel truck is registering all the
way to the left on Cold all the time, even after several hours/miles of
driving.  The exhaust temp gauge and boost gauge don't seem to work either
(unless they only work when a trailer is hooked up).
Rear End Noise??28 Sep 2004 00:08 GMT2
My 2001 SuperCrew is making a metallic "tinking" noise as I start to
decelerate.  It only happens once I touch the brakes but not really
get on the brakes. It only does it once too. It sounded like it is
coming from the rear end so I changed the fluid and added the fiction

1986 Ranger won't turn off26 Sep 2004 04:15 GMT8
I have a 1986 base model (wheelbarrow with an engine) Ranger. We use it for
hauling rocks, the wife will pick up feed, that kind of thing. Anyhow, the
other day, I was moving some stuff, stopped, turned off the key, it
sputtered a little, then ran on. I clicked it back on, tried ...
91 f-150 heater blower motor resistor25 Sep 2004 12:45 GMT1
Yes, I'm a high only AC truck this week.  I see the resistor plug in the
downhill side of the fan plenum.  If I don't break the plug it will be an
easy fix.  Any get one of these resistors and can recommend their source?  I
was going to try my Napa dealer unless there are better ...
