96 w/ 5.8L idler pulley bearings23 Apr 2005 14:25 GMT2
Got a noisy serpentine belt idler bearing by the alternator on my 96
F350 w/ 5.8L.  Can I replace just the bearing or does the whole pulley have
to go?  Browsing through those horrible web auto parts sites (they must all
be the same, as they all use the same P/N's!) I don't get ...
Spare tire on cab and chassis22 Apr 2005 18:00 GMT5
Why is it that the Ford cab and chassis has the fuel tank installed where
the pickups usually have the spare tire storage? Both trucks have about the
same fuel capacity.
That said, I am at a loss as to where to store said tire in a work truck
OBD Code P0420 Help !!22 Apr 2005 02:31 GMT3
I have a 1997 F150 4.6 L 4WD with ~272 k miles and I am getting a periodic
Check Engine light with code P0420 set (Catalyst System efficiency below
threshold, Bank-1).  In addition, the engine sometimes practically stalls
when decelerating to a stop (RPMs go down to ~200 then ...
better MPG with canopy?21 Apr 2005 21:23 GMT5
   I have a 96 F350 4X4 crewcab with a little 5.8L motor.  It's working
pretty hard pushing this monster around, and I recall something awhile back
that trucks get better gas mileage with canopies because it streamlines the
vehicle.  Does anyone remember this subject or have any ...
ANWR shall yield to my Big Iron dreams19 Apr 2005 03:07 GMT13
I drive a Ford F250 (full size, American made, accept no substitutes)
with a 6.8L Triton V10 engine that needs lots of clean fuel. I ride
tall and proud in American iron and I need American oil to power it.
Since 1960 the ANWR reserve has been waiting for God fearing Americans
Camper tie-downs19 Apr 2005 02:37 GMT13
I need to put camper tie-downs on my 99 F150 SC SB 4x4.  I want to carry
a small camperette and I want it tied down solid.  Has anyone here had
to do this?
The extended cab means that I can't put an under belly type bar across
02 ranger 4L V6 EGR trouble code18 Apr 2005 22:54 GMT2
Well after 48000 miles the check engine light came on. I borrowed an OBD 2
scanner and got the code P0401 " insufficient EGR flow detected". I'm going
to start going thru the system tomorrow. Wires, vacume lines, ect. Seems
like there could be quite a few things that could induce ...
88 Ranger with leaky clutch18 Apr 2005 18:49 GMT4
I have  4 wd 4 speed manual  that my son is trying to restore to operational
use.  The engine is running after working on emptying the fuel tank of sand
and replacing both pumps.  Now the clutch fluid leaks preventing the clutch
from disengaging.  The manual says I must drop the ...

7.3 diesel "surging"18 Apr 2005 06:29 GMT8
Hey guys, just looking for some ideas. I have an 02 F350 with the 7.3. as
I'm sure some have experienced, when it's cold the engine surges up and down
for quite a while until it's really warm. (major annoyance when going down
the highway for the first 10 miles) Dealer plugged it ...
E-250 Models18 Apr 2005 04:30 GMT3
Was looking around for a van and since I have a F-250 truck would like to
stick to that size, used.  Most of the E-250s I see are work vans, which
would be ok, but was looking for a conversion van but can't find many.  Were
250 conversion vans sold by dealers?  I need to look at ...
Help!!!!!!!!!18 Apr 2005 03:26 GMT1
After the ordeal of replacing the rear springs/shocks on my 96' Ranger 2wd,
I foolishly decided to tackle the front end-you should see the looks I get
at the spring shop- I've run into a serious roadblock. Can't get the
axle-radius arm bolt out. Got the top shock keeper nuts off ...

Electrical gremlins revisted17 Apr 2005 14:42 GMT1
A few weeks ago I asked a question about why my turn signals shut-off
my cruise control and/or unlocked my torque Converter.
Some one posted that my center mount stop light was burnt out.
It was!  Changed it and the truck is happy now.
