95 Winstar 3.8 engine temp gage problem20 May 2005 12:25 GMT2
We have a 95 Winstar 3.8 that has problem with the analog temp gage.  The
sender is working but the gate is off scale (show 1/2 hot when engine is
stone cold)
Ford dealer will sell only the complete instrument cluster (it has a tack)

So, I have the 98 F150 4.6 parked for 6 weeks whilst I go overseas.
When I come back, I noticed the speedometer is reading about 10%
high (ie. when I am going 70mph by the speedo, I am actually travelling
about 63 mph according to timing the mile markers).

My cruise control on my cab chassis F-450 has become intermittent.
Servo and amp have been replaced.
Activation of either turn signal turns off CC. There is small voltage
on light green wire (brake light/ clutch circuit) - 1.61 volts with

When I traded my previous vehicle at a mega-dealership for a nice looking
2000 Ford Ranger XLT, I unfortunately forgot to ask about the jack and tire
iron, as the truck is in great condition (including the tires), and the
price seemed reasonable.

i have A few questions
I am trying to restore a 79 ford  f150 ranger & i want to move the gas
tank from behind the seat and mount it between the frame rail's but i
can't seem to find any good info on how best to go about doing it.Any

Where can I find online, something that shows how the steering shaft for a
2001 F-150 is suppose to be assembled? I've done a Google, so I'm hoping
that someone has a link or knows what I'm talking about.
The shaft in my truck feels loose when I wiggle it, and I'm beginning to

96 Ranger 2.3    5 speed    New autolite double platinum plugs,  new
wires  about 10K miles ago.  Fuel filter air also not very old.   The
problem started just recently with stumble/hesitation from idle  to
accelerate.  Seems to be worst when first started for the day .    Also

I have a 1999 Ford Ranger 2.5 with 55k miles that pings under load. It
started all of the sudden with a new tank of gas about 3 tank fulls
ago. I have always run middle grade (89) with no problems. At first I
thought it was a bad tank of gas, but has persisted with fresh fill

As the subject line says, I have a 1990 E-150 van with the towing package, a
351FI, and an E4OD transmission.  By what means are the shift points
determined?  Does this transmission use a VSS on the speedometer output?
The van today was staying in 1st gear too long before ...

A few days ago I started getting a grind _some_ of the times that I
shifted into reverse. Today, it has become nearly impossible to shift
into 1st or 2nd gears. I need a quick fix, however, as I am planning
on a long drive Tuesday. What do I do??

 I am hearing a loud vibration or rattling type noise from my 01 explorer
when I idle with the AC on.  I had a similar noise after changing the
serpentine belt, turned out the pretensioner was bad, so they replaced it.
Twice.  The latest is a ford factory tensioner.  THis noise ...

Truck is a 1977 LWB 351-400 2-barrel, auto, PS, PB.   Book says to set
according to the sticker under the hood which is, of course, long gone.

and the passenger window has started working erratically.

hello group i have a 1993 diesel f-250 with a bad centre bearing. the dealer
and walmart have supplied a bearing with a 1 3/8" centre
but upon dissassembly i found a bearing with a 1 5/8" hole, the new one does
not even clear the spline. this confuses the dealer and walmart ...

My wife has a 96 explorer that is loud in the front end. I lifted it up and
can find nothing wrong. both wheel bearings seem fine no noise from the
front diff. I then checked the rear and there is play but not excessive.
The noise goes away on bumps and left turns?
