Spongy brakes - 1998 F350 superduty31 Aug 2005 00:58 GMT1
I checked fluid level, pad wear is within limits, rotors are good.  Vacuum
assist seems OK, although I've read two conflicting methods of testing it.
The pedal just seems to go down too far and I have to STOMP on the brakes
under hard braking conditions.  I haven't owned this truck ...
Blown Head Gasket?30 Aug 2005 23:58 GMT3
Hi.  I have a '92 Explorer with the 4.0 V6 EFI engine (pushrod type).  It
has 280K miles on it. When I first start it up I get a lot of white smoke
from the tailpipe and it runs rough.  After a while the smoke gets to where
it's not really noticeable and the engine runs smoother.  ...
Difficult rotor removal E-25030 Aug 2005 22:12 GMT4
Just got back from my mechanic and he said that he would cut the rotors if
he could get them off without ruining them, but for some reason they usually
get ruined during removal.  I have never heard that before.  Is this the
case sometimes?
2001 F350 Power Door Locks30 Aug 2005 02:47 GMT4
I have a 2001 F350 (Supercab) that has a problem with the power door
locks.  The passenger door locks and unlocks with both the remote and
the door button.  The drivers door will unlock but not lock with the
remote, and does nothing with the lock/unlock button on the door. I've
79 van_help!29 Aug 2005 17:55 GMT23
I am at my wit's end. This great old van has been in the shop for over a
month. They can't seem to figure it out.
It runs when it wants to and stops when it wants to. All the usual stuff has
been checked. It is getting the right amount of gas and the gas is clean,
2005 F-150 Lariat29 Aug 2005 01:47 GMT3
Just bought a new Lariat and the odometer doesn't seem to read out in tenths
of a mile. Is this normal,is there a way to get it to read tenths, I would
like to check the odometer with one of those highway odometer checks, you
know where you drive 5 miles. Without tenths showing ...
F250 Washer Fluid doesn't work...Any Ideas?28 Aug 2005 16:52 GMT3
I have an F250 that has a windshield washer that doesn't work. There
is power at the fuse block (the wiper and washer are on an 8.25 amp
circuit breaker) and I've replaced both the motor and the
column-mounted wiper/washer/turn signal/headlight dimmer assembly
Emergency Brake Cable(s) in '99 Ranger28 Aug 2005 05:34 GMT7
I suspect my brake cables may be failing, and I am thinking I should be
able to replace this / these myself.
How many are there, and how complex is the job?
H.
'84 Ranger 4X4 V628 Aug 2005 05:07 GMT4
Getting ready to buy a '84 Ranger 4X4 V6, but know little about them.
Can anyone advise me as what to look out for, or even point out their
strengths?
Thank you, GC
2005 F250 5.4 L Gas Mileage28 Aug 2005 05:03 GMT6
I am trying to decide if I should get a Toyota Tundra or an F-250. I
like the F250 much better but with Gas prices as high as they are and
probably getting higher soon. I'm concerned about the mileage of the
F250. Although the Toyota is not that great it's about 14/19. I like
v10 loss of power28 Aug 2005 04:48 GMT3
It has happend a couple of times, once at 20mph and at 65mph, our 99
Ford Van with a V10 Triton loses power.  It's like someone turned the
key off.  I coast to the side of the road and it starts up again
without hesitation.  There is no jerking or rough running engine...all
Diesel Overheating27 Aug 2005 20:11 GMT6
I have a 1995 F-250 XL w/189k on the odometer.  Coming home yesterday,
the truck was running a little warmer than usual but nothing serious
(I thought) I was about 50 miles from home and just drove but kept an
eye on the heat.  It kept climbing, slowly, throughout the drive home
E350 bus, blowing 15 amp fuse, 94 7.3 indirect injected diesel, 27 Aug 2005 12:49 GMT1
Blowing fuse when brakes are pushed. One side of switch has +12V the other
side is essentially ground, so when brakes pressed the fuse blows. I am
thinking there is a shorted relay(where is it?), but it just came back from
the paint shop with a replaced right fender and I am ...

'89 F150 transmission issue26 Aug 2005 18:31 GMT4
I've got an '89 F150 with a 5.0 EFI and three speed auto.  The problem is
that it is now a two speed.  I leveled off the fluid but that didn't do the
trick.  The truck is rarely ever driven at 55 MPH since I only use it for
local dump and Home Depot type runs.  Last night I had ...
