| Spongy brakes - 1998 F350 superduty | 31 Aug 2005 00:58 GMT | 1 |
I checked fluid level, pad wear is within limits, rotors are good. Vacuum assist seems OK, although I've read two conflicting methods of testing it. The pedal just seems to go down too far and I have to STOMP on the brakes under hard braking conditions. I haven't owned this truck ...

| Blown Head Gasket? | 30 Aug 2005 23:58 GMT | 3 |
Hi. I have a '92 Explorer with the 4.0 V6 EFI engine (pushrod type). It has 280K miles on it. When I first start it up I get a lot of white smoke from the tailpipe and it runs rough. After a while the smoke gets to where it's not really noticeable and the engine runs smoother. ...

| Difficult rotor removal E-250 | 30 Aug 2005 22:12 GMT | 4 |
Just got back from my mechanic and he said that he would cut the rotors if he could get them off without ruining them, but for some reason they usually get ruined during removal. I have never heard that before. Is this the case sometimes?

I have a 2001 F350 (Supercab) that has a problem with the power door locks. The passenger door locks and unlocks with both the remote and the door button. The drivers door will unlock but not lock with the remote, and does nothing with the lock/unlock button on the door. I've

I am at my wit's end. This great old van has been in the shop for over a month. They can't seem to figure it out. It runs when it wants to and stops when it wants to. All the usual stuff has been checked. It is getting the right amount of gas and the gas is clean,

I suspect my brake cables may be failing, and I am thinking I should be able to replace this / these myself. How many are there, and how complex is the job? H.

| 2005 F250 5.4 L Gas Mileage | 28 Aug 2005 05:03 GMT | 6 |
I am trying to decide if I should get a Toyota Tundra or an F-250. I like the F250 much better but with Gas prices as high as they are and probably getting higher soon. I'm concerned about the mileage of the F250. Although the Toyota is not that great it's about 14/19. I like

I have a 1995 F-250 XL w/189k on the odometer. Coming home yesterday, the truck was running a little warmer than usual but nothing serious (I thought) I was about 50 miles from home and just drove but kept an eye on the heat. It kept climbing, slowly, throughout the drive home

| '89 F150 transmission issue | 26 Aug 2005 18:31 GMT | 4 |
I've got an '89 F150 with a 5.0 EFI and three speed auto. The problem is that it is now a two speed. I leveled off the fluid but that didn't do the trick. The truck is rarely ever driven at 55 MPH since I only use it for local dump and Home Depot type runs. Last night I had ...
